The federal government wants moms and dads to start serving meals at home that conform to the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.

The USDA urged parents to help reinforce the new school guidelines by providing similar meals at dinner time.

“We know that many parents are already making changes at home to help the whole family eat healthier,” the USDA wrote on their official blog. “We recommend reviewing school menus with kids at home and working to incorporate foods that are being served at school into family meals as much as possible

How, exactly, do they know this?

Given present trends, how long before the Feds begin prosecuting?

WiFi cameras inside the fridge. RFID tags on everything in the pantry. It’s all in the technology.

We enforce what people can afford to buy by taxing foods at different rates. If you want a bag of chips, pay a $10 surtax; peanut butter at $5 a jar. Tax what you don't like into oblivion as determined by Michelle Obama.

May be a good reason to NOT use a shopping card and only use cash for purchases. IF these gestapo-lites are doing this to the schools now, wait until they control ALL of your health care next year. They’ll be having home food pantry inspections. The “prepper” stash won’t be for survival it will be filled with the goodies. Hide the good stuff. ;)

Mark my words (now I sound like Rush)...IF “they” are in control “they” will put a major tax on the “good stuff.”

Dear Leader will create a nation system of block captains to visit in the neighborhoods to see who’s been naughty and who’s been nice. Probably will get the kids trained at school enough to rat out their parents too!

I HATE Commmiecrats! They are anal-retentive, control FREAKS who will take everything you have to buy votes with!

Tonight, we’re going to have hot dogs, Fritos, chocolate cake and Pepsi for dinner to celebrate the call of the federal government for healthier food.

Meddle with our cubs’ lunch at your own risk, big brother. I always packed my kids’ lunch, and if they lived at home now, I would certainly do so. That menu isn’t as bad as the old food pyramid, but it isn’t that much better, either.

As one who doesn’t eat processed food and such unless starvation is imminent, there doesn’t appear to be enough fresh meat (protein/brain food) in that new cafeteria diet. The veggies and fruit are fine as long as they are fresh, but it seems a bit heavy on the whole grains/carbs for my liking-any way you serve it, too many carbs=too many pounds.

And how do they propose to monitor and enforce compliance? Eh, Comrade?

With technology the Soviets never even dreamed of.

I posted this thought a long time ago but it seems I may not have been too paranoid.

The Government, under the rubric of Obamacare, will issue cards similar to SNAP or TANF for our food purchases. Under the guidelines of our wonderful Government doctors every month our food allowances will be placed on the card and then we will have to swipe those cards at the registers of the food markets/grocery stores whenever we purchase. You will not be allowed any food/snack purchase beyond what is placed on the card.

With the technology this Country could afford and develop when we were free the Government can rule every single aspect of our lives. Something the Soviets could not even dream of.

Absolutely we eat too much carbs...fruits vegetables and healthy meats and fats make us healthy.

the irony of all this is that it’s the feminist agenda that has contributed to obesity and poor nutrition of america’s children.

girls used to watch their mothers cook to learn how to make healthy and delicious meals for their families but liberal feminists have convinced women that being in the kitchen is akin to slave labor and should be avoided at all costs

if more women were home cooking meals then american children would be else obese

that being said.. I don’t want michelle O in my kitchen telling me what to cook. when was the last time she made a homemade meal from scratch? oh that’s right she has the white house kitchen staff...

“You will not be allowed any food/snack purchase beyond what is placed on the card.”

For that matter, a card would not be needed. A simple tattoo on the hand or forehead would do. /666

A better option would be limiting the food available for purchase with food stamps / SNAP to healthy items. For example, you can buy milk, bread, peanut butter, peas and potatos - but no Little Debby snack cakes, milk shake drinks or lobster.
You’d force lots of people to eat healthy, and it’s been an incentive to get off the dole.

Mandatory body fat measurements, weigh ins and recruitment of stool pigeon children at school.
