White House marriage ties to presidential debate commission continue with Valerie Jarrett

Obama’s closest adviser — often pegged as the real power in the White House — is tied to the presidential debate commission, providing yet another link in the web between the two entities, The Daily Caller has learned.

Valerie Jarrett — who Ed Klein called ”Ground Zero in the Obama operation” — is the senior adviser and assistant to the president for intergovernmental affairs and public engagement.

She served on the board of the Joyce Foundation with the husband of Janet Brown, the executive director of the Commission on Presidential Debates, beginning in 2002.

...

The Joyce Foundation is a progressive Chicago-based charitable foundation that funds various progressive environmental, campaign finance reform and gun control initiatives — including New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s anti-gun initiative, Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

Obama preceded their tenure, serving on the board from 1994-2002 — a time when the foundation’s donations to the anti-gun Violence Policy Center alone totaled $15 million

So? Obama will have the questions before hand. Won’t make any difference. This guy will flop like no other tonight. How can he possibly defend his presidency? If they ask pointed questions he’ll stammer. If they ask about Fast & Furious, the economy etc. and he says it’s Bush’s fault, then Romney will need to do a well, “here he goes again” thing, or just be silent, as if to say,”Are you going to blame George Bush for every failure in your administration.”

How will he defend, telling Lockheed and other companies not to post their layoffs? How will defend the Libyan deaths and going to Las Vegas etc?

NO DOUBT, NEWT WOULD BE WIPING THE FLOOR WITH THIS GUY, BUT ROMNEY? DON’T KNOW. WE’LL SEE.

Your premise assumes he will be asked about F and F and libya. Based on past debates they will hammer mitt on the 47 percent comment and give obama softballs. Oh they might ask “tell us what you would say to those americans still out of work?” Or “what do you say to those americans who want a home but can’t afford one?” Or some such crap.

The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) is a creature of the media establishment and is tied, operationally and emotionally, to main-stream media and the imbedded political establishment. If you take a look at the leadership of the CPD and ignore the 2 dead GOP Presidents, you have well connected establishment politicos and media types.

Thus we are going to have debate questions posed by the very best media types chosen by their peers of the establishment. No wonder that there is no representation from talk radio or "fair and balanced" types.

Doesn't matter that the Evil One will have the questions in
advance - so does Romney. He should answer the questions
that the American people have, which we all know, and simply go
about answering them:

Your question touched on foreign policy. Let me say this
about the cover-up in Libya...

Your question touched on the role of government. Let me say
this about Mr. Obama's use of executive privilege and czars...

Your question touched on government spending. Let me say
this about the $4 trillion in new debt, the stimulus payments
to Obama supporters in "green" industries...

I think the Republicans are tossing the dice and thinking that Mitt is good enough to take down not only the President in a debate....but also a lousy debate host or two. If you’ve watched WWE wrestling...the match is pretty much over when the Hulk walks in and clears the ring of the opposition, the three bad guys who thought they could control the end of the match.

In this case....taking down the President, and a host....probably nails the entire election. It’s a worthy gamble and I think it’s probably worth the effort. If you were connected to CNN and got taken down by Mitt....your network also loses numbers and viewers for the next six months.

Mitt can handle anything they toss at him. He didn’t spend months dealing with the best debaters, Newt, Cain and the others, and not keenly hone his message. Obama on the other hand has been lazy. He takes nothing hard from the press, and therefore can’t give a cohesive answer even if he knows the questions ahead of time.
