The violations included arbitrary arrest, incommunicado detention, torture, and unfair trials, HRW said.
The Gaza Strip has been governed by the Islamist movement, Hamas, since it seized power there in 2007.

Sure we do.
An inmate at our local county lockup just won a monetary settlement because his fellow inmates tied him to a chair in a "pod" and peed on him from the second-story walkway.
All this with state-of-the-art surveillance in plan and unionized jailers supposed to be watching for that sort of crap.
In another instance, a prosecution witness in a murder trial and arrested for a traffic warrant was "podded" with the defendant in the murder case, who promptly beat him to within an inch of his life. He got enough money to last him the rest of his life also.
