CHICAGO (AP) In Chicago, a bustling urban metropolis where skyscrapers are as likely to sprout up as anything a farmer might plant, someone decided there was just enough room to grow something a little more organic: Marijuana. The plants grew even taller than the tallest Chicago Bulls. However, just days before the crop on a chunk of land the size of two football fields would have been ready to harvest, a police officer and county sheriff's deputy in a helicopter spotted it as they headed back to their hangar about three miles away.

Something ain’t right about this story.
1,500 plants would stink to high heaven, particularly on hot Chicago summer days.
The cops must have driven by this dozens of times and just never got out to investigate for some reasons.
Who are the lucky cops that got the other 500 plants?
There are areas within the city limits, specifically around Lake Calumet and Wolf Lake where you can easily find large areas (some on the order of almost a square mile) of abandoned industrial land, wildlife refuge, and relatively undisturbed prairie.
