Matthews Meltdown Mirrors Mainstream Media Panic
IBD EDITORIALS ^ | October 4, 2012

Bias: Their ideological champion having been verbally undressed by a competent challenger, the tingles that used to run up the legs of the mainstream media have been replaced by the mother of all anxiety attacks.

Perhaps Clint Eastwood's chair would have given a better and less-wooden debate performance than President Obama did Wednesday in Denver, site of his coronation in 2008 amid faux Greek columns and with a full set of TelePrompters loaded with slogans on hope and change.

As GOP challenger Mitt Romney masterfully and relentlessly pummeled an emperor revealed to have no clothes with incontrovertible facts and figures on the most dismal four-year record in presidential history, no greater evidence of buyer's remorse was found than in the studios of MSNBC and in the person of Chris Matthews.

There were no tingles running up Matthews' leg as Romney pulled back the curtain to reveal Obama was no wizard, but a charlatan. His ballistic response to Romney's verbal waterboarding of the empty suit to his left confirmed the observation of ABC's Jake Tapper that the media were in the tank for Obama in 2008 and are again. The fourth estate has been Obama's fifth column.

"Where was Obama tonight?" Matthews shrieked at MSNBC's Rachel Maddow. "He should watch, well, not just 'Hardball.' Rachel, he should watch you, he should watch the Reverend Al (Sharpton), he should watch Lawrence (O'Donnell), he would learn something about this debate."

Maybe he has been, and maybe that's the problem. An endless supply of failed nostrums unsupported by facts or history is what the likes of MSNBC provides its limited viewersh

He's gone from the tingle up his leg to the trickle down it. (Not mine).

So sorry, but I have to turn y’all in to JimRob or the mods for unfair piling on. It’s not nice to gloat so over poor Chrissy Matthews one his accomplices on the strange, vanishing network they pollute. Of course, if you can prove you’re having fun doing it... well, that’s a whole ‘nother matter.

Best comment I heard last night: Matthews’ tingle had moved to his left arm!

Just a smidgen of literary artistic license, and you could have had:

Just think of the alliteration glory you missed out on. You hit a triple when you could have had a walk-off grad slam.

This article just tickles me to death. It’s impossible to describe the depth of disgust I feel toward Matthews, David Gregory, Brian Williams, et al. I refuse to watch any of them; it gets so old to see them fawning over Hussein, no matter how rotten a president he shows himself to be. I long for the days past when you could watch newscasters and they never showed any bias toward or against any candidate. They have sunk low in the world of TV journalism.

Eastwood might need to start to get some credit for that “empty chair” thing. Looks like it was true.

Can you imagine the stench of Matthews today after he climbed out of the ditch where he spent the night drunk, spewing, and pissing himself.

Barack Obama has been savaged over his performance in last night's presidential debate, with one commentator even suggesting that he was less effective than the hapless Jimmy Carter.

As Clint noted, the Empty Chair improved by codetoad:

ROMNEY LOST THE DEBATE! OBAMA IS IN TOTAL CONTROL!

It is past time to fire Barack and his empty chair and have both of them hit the road back to Chicago!

Hitler ans Stalin were correct.. you tell lies often enough and spread broadly enough and people will believe them.. Obama learn from this and is currently operating this way..

Every single speach by Obama is peppered with lies both outright lies and partial lies...
The wonder is the people that are sucking them in..
What kind of mentality can be lied to so easily..
Actually prefer the lie, I think..

I don’t think obimbo was as smart as Opie Taylor, more like Barney Fife. Looks a lot like him also. We need to take his bullet out of his shirt pocket.

I will rethink that. Let’s give Opie a break and put the comparison to Malcolm X on a serious drug. Obama was in some kind of weird withdrawal that he couldn’t shake. I’ve never seen him on a world stage act so lethargic.

mojito said: "Last night's emotional collapse was truly an overwrought epic."

It reminds me of "The Caine Mutiny":

Captain Queeg: "Ahh, but the strawberries that's... that's where I had them. They laughed at me and made jokes but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt and with... geometric logic... that a duplicate key to the wardroom icebox DID exist, and I'd have produced that key if they hadn't of pulled the Caine out of action. I, I, I know now they were only trying to protect some fellow officers..."

Matthews has lost his little metal marbles.

I don’t know how you folks can stomach MSNBC.

I never watch MSNBC, but somebody posted the clip on Word for Today. Unbelievable. Wake is a good description. You'd have thought that somebody had died just from the expressions on their faces.

Probably looked just like I did as we closed down the polls in 2008 and I realized that Obama had actually squeaked out a vistory in my very conservative precinct. I couldn't watch the news, or look at my computer for a week afterwards.

They we’re freaking ecstatic to have Lehre as the moderator and even said he would be fair.

So now he’s a leper for letting these guys go at each other with one being a dorky, classless, professor with adolescent attributes pretending to be an adult

While the other was an accomplished man in his church, in his various business interests and like a responsible adult who excelled as a businessman was steeped in the details of his product and that of his competitor’s and man handled his competitor as one would when presenting their respective oroposals in the boardroom.

One has grand thoughts on how things work and the other figured out how they work through tireless hours in those activities of real world experience.

Obama pretends by way of professorial ambition to understand how a plane takes but Romney is both the engineer and very experienced pilot whose experience is very real and deep.

Ramble off.....
