Libya consulate: Was security added or taken away?
CBS News ^ | October 5, 2012

(CBS News) Critics have faulted the administration for changing its reporting on the consulate attack in Libya, but senior correspondent John Miller said that the focus should not be on how information was gathered in the midst of crisis, but on what security existed in Benghazi on September 11 in Benghazi: "What was the deteriorating security situation? How much did Washington know, and what did they deliver in terms of protection? It sounds more like they were taking it away than providing extra."

Officials tells CBS News there were repeated requests for additional security before the attack that were denied and multiple security incidents that should have served as red flags.

Miller said he expects a lot of news to come from next week's Congressional hearing into security at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi.

Miller said one witness that may shed light on the matter is the regional security officer from Benghazi, Eric Nordstrom, "who we understand is prepared to testify about these rising security threats - and they did ask for more security in cables and memos from Washington." Another witness being sought is Charlene Lamb, the deputy assistant secretary of state for international programs, "who is the person who approves or denies those requests.

"I think we're going to see a lot of news coming out of that," Miller said.

The ambassador was one sacrificial lamb
selected/profiled by the DNC
for its expected “october surprise”
that appears to have gotten out of hand a tad.

But what was the plan? What was supposed to happen that would make Obama look good? Incompetence and wishful thinking seem like better explanations from the info we have.

Barack (I killed Bin Laden) Obama obviously saw himself as a foreign policy expert, and based on polls, so did voters. His plan was to create a foreign policy disaster that would take the domestic issues off of the front page and make voters want to keep the foreign policy expert in the White Hut.

It goes without saying that the voters no longer see Obama as better than Romney on foreign issues.

my guess is that the October surprise was the RECOVERY of all the massive weapons supply that Gadhafi had and now those weapons are all over the world, probably, capable of doing great harm to the US and our allies - that is if we have any allies left!

My heart bleeds for those 4 men. BTW, do any of you think the CIA blew this? How is David Patreaus involved at CIA? State Dept. bumbled this? What exactly were the roles of the 2 ex-Navy Seals and who was the 4th person and his role? How does Huma Weiner Abedin and her family Muslim Brotherhood (attackers) fit into all of this? We need details and good old bammy sends the FBI? What the heck? This is a terrorist attack NOT a legal matter.

So the first Gay President (according to Newsweak) sends and openly gay ‘ambassador’ to Libya in the middle of muslim brotherhood takeover...

Did he know too much? How ‘close’ was he to Obama? Were they both in the Down Low club?
