It is fun to watch Biden go into his “so ya wanna fight” mode. Like a riled up Bantam rooster, he comes out all bristled up and with his neck feathers standing straight out, ready to set his spurs.
Unfortunately, these are not the advantages this debate will turn upon.

So Paul Ryan is going to be playing the part of Jerry Lawler and “Plugs” Biden will play the part of Andy Kaufman?
Don’t let us get overconfident. Biden is an idiot and a gaffe machine, but he actually does have some knowledge (more than his boss) and his brain cells might click into action for this one.
Ryan is going to be caught between two fires: if the idiot Biden emerges, Ryan’s going to look like he’s being cruel to the elderly and disabled; if the partisan “elder statesman” Biden emerges, Ryan is going to look young, inexperienced and cowed.
I thought the “just the facts” strategy used in Romney’s debate was good. Ryan is a brilliant man and a very attractive personality who could probably overshadow his boss very easily, but I don’t think he wants to do that.
Ryan expresses himself in a witty and intelligent way, he’s a very dynamic personality, and I think he will do well if he has all his ducks in a row and is prepared for either the “white working class schmoozer Uncle Joe” (a joke, considering Biden’s real background) or the “moderate elder statesman” (also a joke, since Biden was one of the most consistently left-wing members of the legislature).

Biden wants to be loved and admired. He is delusional enough to believe he can rescue the Obama/Biden campaign with his mastery of debating. Ryan should not underestimate Plugs; he may have a flash-back to his bygone glory days; supposedly he was a great debater. Of course, it helps if you have factual material - not socialist propaganda.
The only thing that SlowJoe can count on to rumble is the “brains” leaking into his Depends.

Remember the good Admiral was trying to answer questions with some degree of intelligence and he came across looking confused and doltish... he even questioned why he was there - which was (naturally) taken as a moment of defeat and in my mind I think he was actually saying “How did I get stuck with these two idiots”? algore and Dan Quayle......
In todays ‘sound bite’ world, a thinking man can be mistaken for an idiot, even though he is not.
