What was wrong was that he inferred that all of those on government support, including people on unemployment, would not vote for him.

If you are unemployed and collecting unemployment and really WANT a job, Romney is the guy for you.

If you just want to sit back, collect that unemployment check and then graduate onto welfare and medicare, vote for Obama.

Media’s little game is boring. A little appeasement may calm them down.

Romney needs mention Zer0’s statement “You really didn't build that” in the next debate. He needs to look him directly in the eye and tell him to either apologize or explain why he supports socialism that the statement implies.

He's right that the Democrats can count on about 47% of the vote no matter what. He could have been more precise on who those people are - many seniors receiving checks and paying little or no income tax vote conservative. But he's right to the extent that there's a coalition that forms the base of the Democratic Party made up of government workers, people who work for government-funded enterprises of various kinds like universities and think tanks, government unions, the usual-suspect ethnic groups (with a lot of overlap with the other categories), etc. Add all of that up and you're pretty much at 47%.

The Democrats could run the Boston Strangler and that 47% would vote for him just because he's got a "D" behind his name.

The really bad news is that they've nearly succeeded in forming a 51% absolute majority. And with immigration, their victory seems assured, assuming that there isn't some major reaction by the oppressed 49% (there seems no movement toward that at this time).

We're basically screwed.

I’m sure Romney is extremely ready to discuss his 47% remark in a debate. The Obama team probably knows what will happen if Obama brings it up, and they know it won’t make Obama shine.

A liberal flip-flopper - get used to seeing the liar and double faced Mitt Happens in a Romney White House.

Ugghh.... I’m not expecting anything to change under him. The only positive thing is hopefully America will stop declining.

That’s good enough for me as I can’t stand his social policies - and you all know what they are.

Getting back to basics and the Constitutional liberties the Founding Fathers left for us, NOBODY PAID INCOME TAXES AT ALL.

And you don't think that's good?

yes, the faculty of Harvard are part of the Democrat conspiracy.

On the other hand that's an intensely private organization ~ with an enormous endowment.

I think you should review your list again

Nobody paying income tax is good. Everybody paying income tax is less good. Half the people levying taxes on the other half is bad.

I would imagine that even a private institution like Harvard has deep contacts with government at all levels. Research grants, student loans, pell grants, etc.

Students who qualify for Pell grants also qualify for a full scholarship at Harvard.

Their endowment is incredibly large, so they don't work like a normal school.

Regarding contracts, that's business.
