Big Bird may be on welfare, but he's cleaning up big with merchandising profits:

Shows like Sesame Street are multi-million dollar enterprises capable of thriving in the private market. According to the 990 tax form all nonprofits are required to file, Sesame Workshop President and CEO Gary Knell received $956,513 -- nearly a million dollars -- in compensation in 2008. And, from 2003 to 2006, "Sesame Street" made more than $211 million from toy and consumer product sales. That works out to around $50 million a year in profits. In the end, it's the U.S. taxpayer that loses. It's time Big Bird is weened from the public teat.

Why do the taxpayers pay 99% of the expenses of this private for profit enterprise? Because they are "of the right mind" of course. They can be counted on to help carry the progressive lies to the most impressionable portion of the American populace. Fascism 101 "brain wash them young" it is much easier.

Amen!

It is high time for ALL non profits to be forcefully weaned.

They will bawl for a while like weaned calves, but once they realize it is over, they will be just fine, and maybe those of us forced to support our enemies for years, just may recover as well.

Big Bird is almost old enough for regular colonoscopies and prostate screenings.

Feed me!

I've been waiting for someone with "street cred" to be in the White House since Reagan and Mitt Romney, with "25 years in business" and a record as a turn around specialist, has more than enough for the battle at hand.

When he starts talking about and hopefully making budget cuts and explains why, the usual people will hate him, but with Romney they'll have someone able to argue the numbers, not just duck and cover and go fetal against their "feelings" and class warfare attacks like we usually see.

We have a critical need for that education.

If the rumors are true, he has the character and integrity to not be divisive and maybe can pull us together a bit and back away from the edge we're about to go over.
