"The document is a memorandum dated Sept. 9 from the U.S. mission’s security office to the 17th February Martyrs Brigade, the Libyan-government-sanctioned militia that was guarding the compound, making plans for a ‘quick reaction force,’ or QRF, that would provide security."

It was sanctioned by the Libyian - Transitional Government but surely must have been approved by some in our state department? To give them their due, the Libyan - national transitional government have been honest brokers while our lot have been lying like ....!

"...because the 17th February Martyrs Brigade is related in some way to the Muslim Brotherhood. The MB having security responsibility for our consulate?"

Freepers had the Feb17 scenario figured out weeks ago and fingered the MB. The Feb17 group have ties to al Sharia whose outfit were guarding hospitals/roads, and who apparently have ties to al Qaeda (a picture of al Sharia showed them as looking like Jihadi Safafists). Many of these people were jailed by Quaddafi for terrorist activities, after his demise they were released from jail, considered "ex-terrorists" or "freedom fighters", and used as police and security by the Libyan - National Transitional government. I can't remember where I read it but believe the ambassador and others were working with "militia" groups. Were they working with the Feb17 group? Who armed these groups?

This is probably one of the biggest security/intelligence disasters in American history caused by a completely incompetent administration.

Romney needs to get some ads out.

One can see from the video that Feb17 worked with al Sharia - the bearded ones. They’ve been torturing, killing, and imprisoning the “greenies” <-Qaddafi’ “revolutionaries”, since the overthrow.

The only way a person would be able to get them all would be if it was a part time job 4 hours a day.

I’ve got an ongoing thread on another forum posting Benghazi news. I bet I can use some of the ones you’ve collected.

I have to sneak computer time these days. Too much to do.

The saddest part of this whole mess is the apathy of the general public. One of my good friends was getting attacked on Facebook by a set of Obamabots, so I jumped in to defend him. They were quoting right from the Democratic playbook about how Romney is liar, so I just pointed at how the administration has lied so much about Fast and the Furious and Libya.

The response from the Obamabots: “Wow... Lybia and Fast N Furious... who cares”

Just wonderful. Let’s not care that our government was involved in two coverups, of epic proportions. Nixon is forever vilified for Watergate, but right now it seems Obama is just getting a free pass for TWO huge coverups.

She’s chosen an old friend of hers, Thomas Pickering, to clear them of any wrong-doing. She selected him to head the panel of investigators. Pickering is co-chair of the International Crisis Group (along with many others) with links to Soros et al, he’s also involved in pipelines. A very interesting story overall.

Trouble in Salafist heaven Part “1”

There is big trouble in Al Nour Salafist Party, the trouble can spilt the second largest and influential Islamist political party for real.

Simply just like the Muslim brotherhood and its political arm Freedom and Justice Party. The al Nour Party is the political arm of the famous “Salafist Calling”. The Salafist Calling movement stationed in Alexandria is one of the strongest and most influential movements for Salafists in Egypt since 1970s. It is made of the hardliner Salafist Sheikhs headed by Sheikh Yasser Borhami, who strangely avoided politics and followed the ruler before the revolution. After the revolution Borhami and other Sheikhs found politics attractive enough to found a party and appear in front of the whole world as the second most organizing voting power in Egypt.

They founded the Al Nour party which included novice politicians from Salafists who gained political experience in the toughest way ever, whether through scandals in the parliament, or broken deals with the Muslim brotherhood. Now it seems that Al Nour Party wants to spilt from the Salafist Movement and its control according to some sources. The Party wants to be a political one, based on Islamist Salafist doctrines and not on the Sheikhs orders.

Recently we started to read about resignations in almost all the branches of the Al Nour party throughout the country. Then we find the party’s leader Emad Abdel Ghafour announcing that the party would hold a test for its members in general knowledge and politics to avoid embarrassment but for certain reasons the party did not complete its tests.

Then the media began to speak publicly about the two fronts of Borhami and Abdel Ghafur especially after the appointment of Emad Abdel Ghafur as President Morsi’s social communication advisor. We got two fronts now, Borhami’s front and Abdel Ghafur’s front.

Borhami’s front is more radical, more extremist whereas Abdel Ghafur seems to be less extremist, more open to dialogue to other political forces and powers including non-Islamists as well the West. Abdel Ghafur is trying to position his party as the second best option after the Muslim brotherhood and is trying to defend his party against the allegations of extremism in his own way.

There is on going war between the two fronts now on the party. I believe Borhami got too much power because of his religious role, already he is too dangerous and has too many followers and disciplesm, still Abdel Ghafur is the president’s adviser now, aside from his membership in the constituent assembly for the second time.
.
This is not the only trouble in Salafist heaven, it seems this is just the tip of the iceberg...

Emad Abdel Ghaffour, head of the Islamist Salafi Nour (Light) Party. Ghafour in 2011, said he wouldn't follow the Muslim Brotherhood - "we hate being followers." He also told the U.N. to criminalize contempt of Islam. And this man is less extreme?!

“We do not support violence against women, but God allowed a certain form of beating,” said Borhamy, arguing that in Islam the husband is permitted to beat his wife as long as no physical damage or scar would result." - More extreme? Truth be known the other guy - Ghafour - believes the same thing.

Yasser Borhamy:

No deal with Shafiq; men can beat wives on conditions, says Salafist leader

Salafist cleric Yasser Borhamy denies accusations of a deal with former military candidate Ahmed Shafiq, argues against constitutional articles forbidding men from beating their wives.

Ahram Online , Saturday 29 Sep 2012

Popular Salafist preacher Yasser Borhamy confirmed in a media statement Friday that the meeting which he was blamed for attending, with former presidential candidate Ahmed Shafiq, was part of an initiative made by El-Nour Party to mediate between different groups.

Borhamy said the meeting was arranged because of the rising fear at the time that Shafiq might win. He confirmed that discussions tackled only very specific points, including that violence should not be used against protesters, that the Muslim Brotherhood should not be again isolated, that Copts should not be given any “special position” in society and that Quranic verses should not be removed from school curriculums.

According to Borhamy, El-Nour Party member Ashraf Thabet, who had earlier also come under attack for meeting with Shafiq, was also present during the talks, which were only part of an initiative that also included several other meetings with various concerned parties, like the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Borhamy underlined that no deal had been struck with Shafiq, although he had requested that the Salafists support him in the second round presidential elections. “Everyone knows the Salafist Call supported Morsi,” stated Borhamy.

The Salafist El-Nour Party, of whom Borhamy is known as its “godfather,” has been experiencing deep internal divisions of late. After the party’s Supreme Committee withdrew confidence from Chairman Emad Abdel-Ghafour last Wednesday, Abdel-Ghafour claimed that several committee members, including Thabet, had been negotiating with Shafiq. Borhami also faced similar accusations.

The controversial preacher went on to warn the media Friday in Kafr El-Dawwar that liberals were attempting to remove from the constitution restrictions on gender equality established by Islamic jurisprudence.

“We do not support violence against women, but God allowed a certain form of beating,” said Borhamy, arguing that in Islam the husband is permitted to beat his wife as long as no physical damage or scar would result.

Borhami is known for his controversial statements, including one in which he reiterated his stance on Jews and Christians, describing both as INFIDELS. (like it’s news or a shock that they call us infidels}

“I hold on to my stance that Jews and Christians are infidels, but they do have rights that Allah has given them,” he once stated during a press conference in Dakahliah, north east of Cairo.

Borhamy, the deputy leader of the Salafist Call (Al-Dawaa Al-Salafiyya), was instrumental in forming El-Nour Party in 2011, commonly viewed today as Al-Daawa’s political arm.

El-Nour Party was the second biggest winner in parliamentary elections in November 2011, behind the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP).

Borhamy is a professional surgeon who began his preaching activities in the 1970s. He contributed to the establishment of the Salafist Call in Egypt and is a member of the movement’s six-man Trustees Council.

I’m pretty sure it was a Salafist from Al Nour who got hold of the trailer movie and doctored it!
