What Boehner should do is calculate out who will be the most likely committee chairmen in the House and the Senate, assuming congress and the presidency goes Republican on January 20th.
Then instruct them that they are to prepare what in are effect emergency bills to save the economy as soon as congress convenes. Everything fast tracked, and no Democrat interference allowed, especially in the senate.
This means that Mitch McConnell will have to get some serious stones, and be as authoritarian as was Harry Reid. That is, if Democrats have anything constructive to include, do it immediately, or be shut out of the rest of the process.
For his part, Boehner will have to have an intense and scripted game plan for the Republican house, that will be executed even if he is not reelected Speaker.
This is a case of national economic survival, so b.s. needs to be kept to a minimum. Assuming Romney is POTUS, he should be in on the deal as far as his “just signing the danged things”, so they can go into effect immediately.

I don’t know how you figure, but I do know that Boner and Co. ( with GWB’s able assistance) gave us Obama in 2008!!!
When it comes to selling out the party, and by extension the country, Boehner ALWAYS comes through in the clutch. Mark my words.
