Mitt Romney on Monday will accuse the Obama administration of fundamentally misunderstanding the threat of radical Islam, using a major foreign-policy speech at the Virginia Military Institute to say President Obama is rejecting six decades of bipartisan consensus by not flexing more U.S. muscle on the world stage.
And after delaying for nearly a month, the Republican presidential nominee will sharpen his attack about the way Mr. Obama handled the assault on American diplomatic posts in Egypt and Libya.
According to excerpts, he will say the presidents first reaction was to blame an Internet video mocking Islam, and only belatedly to spot the deliberate work of terrorists who use violence to impose their dark ideology on others.

How about slamming him on adding 4 more years to our afghanistan misadventure? Twelve years we’ve been there. Insane.
The authors have to venture into domestic policy and intrude it into foreign policy in order to blunt the effect of Romney's address. But let us concede both the truth of the unemployment numbers and their presumed effect as stated by the authors.
I believe that Romney should use the fiasco of Benghazi as a metaphor for the failures of the Obama administration both foreign and domestic, just as the media exploited hurricane Katrina as a metaphor for the alleged fecklessness of the Bush administration, both domestic and foreign.
Benghazi tells us all we need to know about the employment numbers. The lapses of the Obama administration generally in misconceiving the war in defense of terrorism by militant Islam and specifically on the ground in Libya were blamed absurdly by the administration on an amateurish, largely unviewed video. Similarly, the failures of Obama's policy over 3 1/2 years and after trillions of dollars to advance employment 1 mm is blamed blamed on George Bush.
Katrina became a metaphor for incompetence in the Bush administration at a time when people felt that it was a way of complaining about the Iraq war without appearing unpatriotic. Before the surge we seem to be failing in Iraq so we complained about Katrina. Much the same can now be imposed on Obama and with far more justification. We can say that Obama stubbornly refused to acknowledge the failure of his foreign policy of appeasement and apology just as he has failed to acknowledge the failure of his efforts to restore the economy. Obama's incompetence alone is not the story, it is Obama's stubborn refusal to acknowledge his failures and change course which is the real story.
The idea is that no corrective action will ever be possible so long as Obama is president.
"Benghazi" should be put into the political lexicon in exactly the same way that "Katrina" was forced onto us.
This is Romney’s two-by-four to the side of the head of the Boy King. The other side and press will squeal like stuck pigs in their a response, making themselves look ridiculous to the voters that matter.
Is there a leaker in the Romney campaign or do they think giving the opposition the plan is a smart move?
The campaign released an excerpt of the speech the day before. They perhaps even expected the White House to issue a rebuttal so it’s gonna make news this week.
But Fridays jobs report, which showed the unemployment rate dipped below 8 percent to 7.8 percent, which is where it was when Mr. Obama took office in January 2009 erased one of the Republicans favorite talking points. The response to that statistical fudge should be to call it the October Finagle, and point out that changing the number has no effect on your paycheck, or lack thereof:
"Benghazi" should be put into the political lexicon in exactly the same way that "Katrina" was forced onto us.A recession is when your neighbor loses his job,
a Depression is when your wife loses her job -and Recovery is when Barak Obama loses his job!
. . . and with far more justification.
He addressed 0bama’s foreign policy and our military at Valley Forge Military The media, of course, buries it. they reduce him to sound bites for the entire campaign. The debates, live appearances and Youtube are the only way to get his messages unfiltered.
One might wonder if he is looking to hand the election to Obama. The American public is rightfully fed up with endless crusades.
The American public likes to win. You win by having a clear military goal.
Obama’s foreign policy is to bleed America overseas with ROEs and fights that aren’t our problem. There is a difference.
It reads to me as “Rope a Dope”. IOW the Romney Campaign is corraling Obama, and Company. Obama, and Company will now have no choice but to respond/react to Romney rather than have the freedom to divert attention to lies, and fabrications of which that party is so notorious. Obama, and Company will try to divert attention away from any truths negative to them, but this move by Romney IMO makes it difficult for them to do so.
Good job Romney campaign. Let’s see more of it.
We coulda learned from the Rooskies and the Brits.
Whose is the sanest voice on foreign policy?
What about the “...more flexibility after the election” message Obama sent our once and maybe still mortal enemy, Russia, the only country that can still utterly destroy us in military terms?
It shows either a profound mistrust of the American people, at best, or our president is a traitor at worst.
It would be ironic if it is over the top to go there, but at the same time true.
The main reason I favor Romney is not his foreign policy but as a roadblock to the relentless march toward Sodom and Gomorrah led by the libertine left.
Teddy was a crusader. He’s a terrible President a la Wilson. As a matter of face he paved the way for Wilson.
What???
