During his fundraising trip to Los Angeles this weekend, President Obama began by privately meeting a dozen liberal donors at the home of DreamWorks Animation Chief Jeffery Katzenberg. Obama’s “defender-in-chief,” former President Bill Clinton also attended.
When asked by reporters about the nature of the event, White House Traveling Press Secretary Jen Psaki would only say that it was a “thank-you event”
“We have actually done meetings or events with high-dollar donors who have maxed out or contributed a high amount to the campaign around other events before, Psaki explained. “So this is one of those events; it’s a thank-you event for a small group of donors.”
The event was closed to the press, as the press pooler reported that he held in the Katzenberg’s garage during the event, next to “an Audi and a Nissan Leaf.”
The exclusive guest list was not revealed to the press and no description of the event was given.
Later in the evening, President Obama publicly acknowledged the Katzenberg’s at a fundraiser.
“Jeffrey and Marilyn Katzenberg have been tireless and stalwart and have never wavered through good times and bad since my first presidential race, back when a lot of people still couldn’t pronounce my name,” Obama said. “And I will always be grateful to them for just the incredible support that they’ve given.”
Katzenberg has maxed out to Obama and donated $2 million the pro-Obama super PAC, Priorities USA Action.
When will The First Dictator meet with all his foreign donors for a really big “thank you event”? They’ve kicked in about $200,000,000 again online, as they did in 2008, which is against the law, of course, but that doesn’t matter for Democrats. They are above the law. However, some poor dumb taxpayer who breaks one of the 75000 tax laws loses his property and is thrown in the slammer. That’s the Democrat idea of “fair.”
Obama needs Clinton but the bad part for Obama is that it makes him appear to be running as Vice President. That’s what it sounded like in the first debate anyhow. Leaning on Clinton so much also means that Obama is no longer ‘The Won’.
He can go say thank-you to people who give him money, but the jackass can’t get out of bed when Americans are dying in Libya. Here we have Obama in all his glory.
From what I heard on the news this morning the moron is getting mega bucks from all over Europe and Asia..These criminals have to be voted out or we will be in a world of trouble..
These left-coast liberals have to be very bored and attention-needy to elevate a private party with a skinny former street-pimp and con artist from the Chicago slums into a major social event in their lives.
The President thinks he's slumming when he clinks glasses with these wealthy donors....and they think they are slumming when they party with HIM.
This mutual back-slapping session could very well have qualified as the scene of a psychiatrist's Utopia.
