Romney holds 40-point lead among military voters
The Washington TImes ^ | 10/8/2012

In a Military Times poll likely to devastate a White House that's done everything in its power to win over veterans, past and present (except come up with a cohesive and effective foreign policy), Mitt Romney beats Barack Obama by an astonishing 40 points, 66-26%

What's even more surprising is that Romney is doing almost as well against Obama as war hero John McCain did in 2008. That year, McCain polled a statistically insignificant two points better than Romney against Obama with 68% of support.

It is horrifying to think that a quarter of the military would vote for The Disaster.

That fact, combined with the Postal Service’s desperate need for a bailout, makes me really fear for the fate of all those absentee ballots.

The reason is simple. Military members take an oath to "protect and defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies foreign and domestic." And many (most) in the military take that oath to heart and recognize the threat that Obama poses to our Constitutional way of life.

No wonder zero sues to make it harder for these guys to vote.

If you took away the AA portion of the military vote, the edge gets up to San Francisco proportions, in reverse.

Among the three veterans’ groups to which I belong, Romney holds a 90-10 lead.

We must also remember that the Military Times is NOT a paper that is run BY the military.

I constantly tell my Soldiers about unconstitutional acts that are being done. I also ask them “hypothetical” situational questions. If they give an answer that I feel would be contrary to our oath, I refer them to ask JAG about it. But at the same time remind them that they have the intelligence to determine on their own what is legal and what isn’t.

What is important about these numbers is the fact that it is not just the military personnel who vote this way, but their families, and people who support the military, the Tea Party and a good chunk of the Republican Party.

The need to differentiate people who are serving in combat roles versus people who play piccolo in the Coast Guard band. Warriors have always voted 80-20 republican.

You have some that will vote for him for appearence reasons (need I go on?) and some that ate up the Progressive lies. Also, there is a noticable number that are Libertarians-Great that they want a small government but also hate Christians.

What is more horrifying is that they won’t get to vote at all.
