Did Obama Just Throw The Entire Election Away?
The Daily Beast ^ | Oct. 8, 2012 | Andrew Sullivan

The Pew poll is devastating, just devastating. Before the debate, Obama had a 51 - 43 lead; now, Romney has a 49 - 45 lead. That's a simply unprecedented reversal for a candidate in October. Before Obama had leads on every policy issue and personal characteristic; now Romney leads in almost all of them. Obama's performance gave Romney a 12 point swing! I repeat: a 12 point swing.

Romney's favorables are above Obama's now. Yes, you read that right. Romney's favorables are higher than Obama's right now. That gender gap that was Obama's firewall? Over in one night:

Currently, women are evenly divided (47% Obama, 47% Romney). Last month, Obama led Romney by 18 points (56% to 38%) among women likely voters.

Seriously: has that kind of swing ever happened this late in a campaign? Has any candidate lost 18 points among women voters in one night ever? And we are told that when Obama left the stage that night, he was feeling good. That's terrifying. On every single issue, Obama has instantly plummeted into near-oblivion. He still has some personal advantages over Romney - even though they are all much diminished. Obama still has an edge on Medicare, scores much higher on relating to ordinary people, is ahead on foreign policy, and on being moderate, consistent and honest (only 14 percent of swing voters believe Romney is honest). But on the core issues of the economy and the deficit, Romney is now kicking the president's ass:

By a 37% to 24% margin, more swing voters say Romney would improve the job situation. Swing voters favor Romney on the deficit by a two-to-one (41% vs. 20%) margin.... Romney has gained ground on several of these measures since earlier in the campaign.

I agree. National polls matter some, but it is the individual state polls that matter much more.

I think Sullivan may be coming up on Obama’s rear flank

The thing about the debate is that it affected Obama supporters in a profound way. I was never going to vote for him, but Obama’s performance just broke the spirits of his supporters.

It was as if the scales were lifted from their eyes and they saw that they had been following a false messiah.

How is it that his strongest supporters know he is a shiftless liar, fraud and incompetent yet they continue to fight for his success? The reason is simple. It does not have to do with O. It is their absolute commitment to the success of their Marxist revolution. These are the real enemies of our nation, our Constitution and our way of life.
We are as close as we have ever been to destruction from within. Our civil war did not pose as great a threat.
It is horrifying to consider the likelihood of the continued march of evil under a Romney presidency but we have no guarantee it will not be just so. We have an absolute guarantee that a continued O presidency will bring our nation to its final end.
This election is not about hope. It is about a choice between the end of the US as a sovereign republic or a momentary pause in its destruction, however fleeting.

Folks, the Pew poll was not that big of swing. They dramatically shifted their polling from Dem +8 to R+3. We can’t get too cocky. Also realize they will, after the next debate, swing back to a +6 D sample and show that Obama got a swing back his way.

There’s been some speculation here that the Kenyan doesn’t really want to be re-elected. I think it is plausible, and I thought it would make for an interesting premise of a novel or movie. Imagine that it is actually true. It’s unprecedented in modern times (yes, I remember LBJ, Captain Obvious!) Who can he tell? Certainly not the powers that be at the DNC, certainly not Valerie, not even Moochie. (That’s my dramatic premise, all right? Is it worthy, say, Danielle Steel, or Tom Clancy’s ghost writer college kids?) It could be quite a drama, and I believe that it may even be true.

“Oh my” they said. “This joker just doesn't have it.” And they switched.

They haven't switched. They're still in free-fall with NOTHING to grab hold.

It must suck to be a Dim right about now.

Keep praying each day for Romney/Ryan and for our nation.

Obama has brought us to a very vulnerable point—both militarily and economically. He must be booted out on November 6th—the future of your children and grandchildren depend on it.

Even if you usually don’t engage in politics with folks and family—if you are ever going to do it, now is the time. Now is the time to help olks understand the truth and the real issues.

After November 6th, it won’t matter anymore.

This piece, and more to come from the MSM, are being written now to set up the "Obama, Comeback Kid" narrative. From the depths of despair, the Messiah will lead them all.

Ignore them all, and work to beat The Empty Chair.

Anyone here who thinks the race is over is a bit loco! Just heard Thompson on Greta and he made an excellent point. When Greta asked him about Obumbler 181million, Thompson said that the O camp is probably quitely buying massive votes, busing them by the bus loads to the voting booths for early voting. That along with the massive tv ad! WOW, that was an eye opener! It didn’t hit me until Fred pointed that out....181 million can buy you a whole mess of bus load votes! I hope RNC is keeping a close eye on dirty RATS! The illegal campaign cash has already turned into votes...too late to do anything about it! God help us!

I hope Romney and/or Ryan bring up the fact that a huge per-cent of doctors plan to shut their doors down if Obama Care isn’t repealed. I wish Romney would of said it right to Obama Sleeping Face! After Thursday night it will be “2-0” !!

I actually did think he mentioned this in debate number one.....maybe I was dreaming!

This is terrifying when Rasmussen gets us at only even, following a game changing blow out that likely can’t be duplicated anywhere near the margin seen on Wednesday night.

There better truly be a silent majority out there, or this thing lands in the Supreme Court counting fraudulent ballots.

One Pub pollster noted that this poll is skewed +5% for Republicans. Previous polls were mostly +9-11% Democrat. Neither is likely accurate. However what’s telling is Romney is up something like 17% among independents, which doesn’t change no matter which is oversampled. Obama won independents by 12% in 2008.

Do tell. Ambition is not generally a trait found in choom blowers, quitters and people who rise at 11AM and turn on ESPN for the rest of the day.

I seriously wonder what other ambitions he has? Snorkeling? Shave Ice eating? Bath houses? Golf?
