Bombshell: CNN takes money from foreign dictators to run flattering news stories about them

Those of you who are regular readers of Natural News—and your numbers are many—may not always agree with points of view expressed here, but we believe you at least consider us a trustworthy news source, a point driven home by the tens of millions of page views we receive every month.

That said, how much trust would you place in us if, say, we were being paid to put out certain information or relate only a singular point of view? We're guessing that number would be much, much smaller.

Yet that's what one establishment media organization—CNN—appears to be doing, according to multiple sources who say the network has begun engaging in a practice of killing stories that portray governments and countries which have become the network's sugar daddies in a bad light. …

No, what Eason Jordan admitted was almost as bad. He admitted that CNN slanted its reporting from Iraq prior to Gulf War II so that their reporters would not be sent out of the country. They admitted to not filing stories which Saddam Hussein would find offensive in order to be allowed to remain in Iraq. It’s as if CBS had allowed Goebbels to review dispatchs from Berlin prior to 1942.

The Gulf states have been “investing” in CNN, mainly to insure that they don’t off the reservation and start to give their stories a pro-Israeli spin, not that there was ever much danger of that. That the mainstream media, and CNN especially, are biased against Israel, the only true democracy anywhere near the Middle East, is beyond contention.

Old news. CNN’s Eason Jordan admitted this is 2003.

Maybe so, but you wouldn't have stopped the French People from beheading Louis XVI with the stunner that the hated Salt Tax was "old news" -- an abuse is still an abuse, and has no tenure, ever.

CNN wouldn’t expose some of Saddam’s atrocities in exchange for exclusive access and interviews.

Funny how they had to kinda welsh on that one, once the bodies started coming out of the killing fields and the other networks ran stories on them.

But then, by that time, Saddam and the "wolf cubs" (Uday and Qusay) were on the run from the Army and trying to run a guerrilla war (having taken Chinese government advice to tie us up and bog us down in "one, two, many Vietnams" </off old ChiCom slogans>).

I have no doubt at all that the culture of corruption continues at CNNObama.

This is exactly the kind of pollution of public life that toleration of any kind of |payola| <=> |pay-to-play| gets you. Federal prosecutors and Congress should have cleaned these guys up with federal prison terms given out "liberally" 20, 30 years ago.

Capitalism is the only economic engine that is compatible with individual liberty and freedom of the people.

Provided only that it's genuine Adam Smith free-market capitalism.

The crony-capitalist, access-capitalist, and monopoly-capitalist models kinda don't work for us.

You need good policemen and strong laws to make capitalism, and a legislature willing to back them up and not take money all over the place as "campaign contributions" to palliate the regulators. The price of which, from the 80's and 90's, we're still paying -- when the regulators and Congress looked the other way, and the Boys Downtown used the markets to shear savers and investors all alike with "near-perfect knowledge", cronyism, and shady, anti-marketarian practices (like "market timing").

The term of art for all the above is "ordoliberalism", from the old German intellectual journal Ordo in which these ideas were debated 120 years ago by ordoliberals and classical liberals.

The Gulf states have been “investing” in CNN....

Looks like the Saudis bought themselves a helluva lot more than that -- they got themselves a Communist-Moslem president.

Yet another example of “in kind” donations to the 0bama campaign that don’t have to be reported.

Amber Lyon video on LiveLeak (skip forward to 3:40 to skip some commercial talk), she talks about CNN and the MSM suppressing the news. Plus watching Amber is its own reward.

CNN’s Eason Jordan admitted this is 2003.

THAT'S the name... thanks, when I read this headline, I kept thinking, wasn't there some CNN guy a few years back who told us this, and it was the reason they had better coverage (locations, access) in the ME?

I was not aware that needed a sarcasm tag. Leftists define capitalism as unrestrained greed devoid of principles. I do not.

CNN - the first name in capitalism.... oops, I meant journalism.

I thought that was a succinct summary of their hypocrisy.
