The Obama campaign blasted the state of Ohio for appealing a key voting rights case to the U.S. Supreme Court.

"There is no justification for the state’s arbitrary actions this year in trying to deny the vast majority of its voters access to open polling places for the last three days before the election.

I thought states just had to have open polling places on election days, not on days prior to election days. Why is this a problem?

They may not agree with Ohio’s action, they may not want it, and they may believe it will fail....

But to say there is no justification for an appeal, when the state has every right to appeal to the US Supreme Court?

"The Secretary of State has now chosen to extend the litigation and to ask the United States Supreme Court to intervene just four weeks before the election. We have no reason to believe that he will meet with any more success now than before.

Ahhh, you never know, even the SCOTUS can have an October surprise once in a while.....
