Even after the fallout from last week's presidential debate, Barack Obama retains a 4-point lead in the state of Ohio and pulls a majority of the vote in a poll released this afternoon by CNN.
Obama leads Romney in the state, 51 percent to 47 percent. The president has consistently led in the battleground state in credible public polling and internal surveys on both sides of the 2012 race.
The results from the CNN poll underscore the continuing challenge the Electoral College poses to Romney: while he has gained in national presidential polls, Romney has only the narrowest of paths to winning 270 electoral votes if he cannot improve his standing in Ohio. The CNN survey is the first widely trusted poll to emerge from the Buckeye State since the debate last week.
34%-Dem
32%-Rep
34%-Ind
From the poll:
"Among those likely voters, 34% described themselves as Democrats, 34% described themselves as Independents, and 32% described themselves as Republicans. Ohio does not have party registration."
You know whenever Romney has a lead, the media turns the race into Ohio and tries to hypnotize everyone that only Ohio matters.
It is important but a bigger story would be Obama’s failed presidency may hang on by its fingernails and be a total 2nd term disaster because of barely winning Ohio.
I’m not worried. CNN has to pay back Obama for it’s actual reporting of the Libyan ambassador’s diary of having no security.
Every other poll shows Romney leading in Ohio so this poll is dog poo
From where did you get that party breakdown? It’s not in the politico story.
So, Obama is when independents in OH while losing them in a landslide everywhere else? Doesn’t add up.
as the busses loaded with 47%er’s line up at the county recorders offices for Early Cheating (aka early votng) it should give the Kenyan Basterd a bump
Well, when they state an obvious falsehood in the body of an article nothing else said can be trusted.
From the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections webpage on "How Do I Declare or Change Political Party Affiliation":
Under Ohio election law, you can change your political party at a Primary Election only. This is done by requesting the ballot type for the political party with which you wish to be affiliated. Ohio Revised Code Section 3513.19, .20.
If you do not want to be affiliated with a political party in Ohio, you are considered to be an unaffiliated voter. An unaffiliated voter, which is identified by some people as an independent voter, may only vote an Official Questions and Issues Ballot, if there are any present, for your precinct on Primary Election Day. Unaffiliated or Independent voters can vote for candidates and issues in a General Election.
will now be walking back last week's meme that "whomever wins Oiho wins the presidency"
The MSM is just teeing up the narative of “the bounce is over.”
poll ping
All the liberals from California moved to Ohio...
Beware any poll which someone goes through the trouble of describing as “credible” and “widely-trusted.”
*ping*
two words that don’t fit well in this piece..politico + credible
I checked out the poll numbers and the CNN poll also shows some Conservatives voting for Obama, that is when I laughed so hard my tummy started hurting. Im sorry but find me ONE Conservative(I’m not talking about a fake RINO type either) that will say they are voting for Obama

Too bad for CNN Ohio is a 37R-36D state. Run this poll with an accurate sample and you switch the results to R 51, O 47
Yeah, Ohio is in the bag for Zero. That’s why he was here again today.
FREE FONES! EKSTRUH MINITS FOUR EVREE TIME YOO VOTE! ROMKNEE SUKS BAD!
Can you provide a link to those internals? They are not on the CNN web site for this poll.
How many people actually tune in to CNN now?....three?
There should be a disclaimer in here somewhere where they admit that they polled the local union hall during the monday night meeting in Cleveland, Ohio
I would never have guessed this.
Can you put up a link for the internals?
What was CNN’s batting average in Wisconsin earlier this year...nationwide in 2010....Presidential in 2008?

here ya go, have yourself a good laugh cause I think its hilarious
Someone called it because of the way CNN was touting this poll earlier today. We knew it would show zerO up and over 50%.
Glad the Dems are so fired up to vote for their messiah still. Do they choose their mix with darts?
Pray for America

Yea, I was sure I wouldn’t be the only one to pick up on this.
How about another goodie:
CNN survey is the first widely trusted poll to emerge from the Buckeye State since the debate last week.
bwwaaaaaaahahah
Let me guess, since Romney is trailing, this poll is bogus.
Tomorrow when the same poll shows Romney in the lead, it is going to be the most reliable poll out there.
I think I see a pattern developing.
It shows about 5 times as many conservatives for Obama as liberals for Romney (19% to 4/5%).
That’s eye-catching all right.
Yeah thats why its BS..no way are Conservatives EVER going to vote for Obama..not a single one
“two words that dont fit well in this piece..politico + credible”
Yeah this is bad. Politico quickly running with a new CNN poll. They want this to be true so bad they can’t resist a few partisan digs. Journolisters indeed.

Since Nov 23, 2011
I also see a pattern developing.
“I think I see a pattern developing.”
Me too! The Kenyan is getting his ass kicked!
Romney continues to get outspent in Ohio by Obama. I did see 3 Romney ads in a row this morning, and then, believe it or not, I saw 2 Obama ads in a row. It was same network, and commercial commercial, back to show, commercial, back to show, o commercial o commercial.
So, the 3 in a row by Romney is an improvement, but he’s got to keep it up if he’s going to beat Obama’s ad buys. First time I’ve seen it from Romney.
Mind made up:
Total 85% /D 94% / Ind 79% /Rep 83% /Lib 90% /Mod 77% /Con 89%
Might change mind:
Total 13%/ D 5% / Ind 19% / Rep 16%/ Lib 9% / Mod 21% / Con 10%
: )
All polls I've seen recently show independents going for Mitt in HUGE numbers, 12 to 15%.
So, if Dems and Repubs are just about even in the low-mid thirties, and they respectively give their guy the expected 90% support, what gives?
How do you get a 4% Zero edge?
This is getting tiresome. Obama won Ohio in 2008 with 51% of the vote. Unless you have the brain of a gnat, you KNOW he won’t get that in 2012. Impossible.
Axelrod must have visited CNN HQ recently.
Well, he was here in Columbus again today. Seems like he or Biden are in Ohio at least once a week.
C[o]NN Poll - enough said.
Also might add, I live about 15 minutes outside of Columbus in Fairfield county. We are a heavy republican county and suburban area. Today I ran a lot of errands. I must have seen at least 50 to 75 Obama signs on a three mile stretch of road/street, which is bizarre for this area. I was stunned, they were not in yards but on the roadside. This area runs past several schools, and a firehouse. I saw one Romney sign.
The only numbers that make sense are Dems and Indies. Sounds to me like a number of Dems misidentified themselves on purpose, or the pollsters did.
doesn’t Candy Eating Crowley work for CNN? Isn’t Candy Eating Crowley under pressure from the left to get “tough” on Romney because Obama is incompetent?
