House Democrats Preparing for a Post-Pelosi World (Wasserman Schultz gives her the boot?)

House Democrats Preparing for a Post-Pelosi World
By Billy House
Updated: October 10, 2012 | 1:13 p.m.

**SNIP**

Wasserman Schultz, 46, got the candidate’s promise of support for at least the vice chairmanship, beating to the punch another member who would later be telephoning, California’s Barbara Lee, 66.

Such are the maneuverings of a handful of younger House Democrats scrambling to secure commitments in their bids for a seat at the caucus’s leadership table—or perhaps at its head.

**SNIP**

But she has become something of a wild card for handicappers now that she is unlikely to be offered the opportunity to stay on at the DNC or join a second Obama administration. If she takes on Crowley or awaits a total leadership realignment post-Pelosi, Wasserman Schultz has collected lots of chits on the campaign trail.

Former Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman Lee and Rep. Jared Polis rep. Jared Polis Democrat Colorado, who would be the first openly gay member to enter House Democratic leadership, have not conceded the race to Crowley or anyone else. Both would have their own built-in constituencies within the House Democratic Caucus.

Put in some rookie white woman before Barbara Lee? This may get good.

DWS should worry more about being re-elected.

Exactly.

However, I saw the same technique used here in Tn when one
of our RAT senators, Jim Sasser, was said to be considered
for VP. Sasser, of course lost anyway.

Because liberals are THE MOST racist people in America-bar nun! I`ve worked with loads of them in blue collar jobs my entire adult life and black, white, brown-it doesn`t matter, they hate anyone who is NOT in their cliche, and they feel entitled-where have we seen that word before-to vent their hatred. I call it the “Get out of racism, D-card.”, that little D by their names, it gives them a free excuse to vent and show their real feelings. And nobody is supposed to say a word,"...they vote the right way."

Funny how blacks fail to advance to top Democrat leadership positions cept maybe to head the black caucus.

What's really funny is how Pelosi had to create an entirely new leadership position for James Clyburn when the House flipped to Republicans in 2010.

Pelosi was Speaker, Hoyer was Majority leader, and Clyburn was Party Whip. After 2010, Pelosi became Minority Leader and Hoyer became Minority Whip, leaving Clyburn outside the plantation house. So, Pelosi created a brand new role called Assistant Leader just for Clyburn, so he could remain in "leadership."

forgive me if I’m wrong but isn’t the job of the “Party Whip” to go around the hill and look for members with a whip and get them off their lazy drunk asses to go in and vote for what ever the current leadership wanted?

Something like that. In today's world, they enforce party discipline to ensure the votes that each side has for/against a bill. From Wikipedia, The usage comes from the hunting term whipping in, i.e. preventing hounds from wandering away from the pack.

Schultz is under 45 with 16 points undecided. She leads now 44.2/39.7 and beat Harrington 60/39 the last time. With people who are certain to vote Harrington leads 36/35.7 so she shouldn't be measuring the curtains.

Wow, what a Hobson’s Choice! DWS as Democratic Minority Leader?

On one hand, OMG what an annoying woman . . .

On the other hand, with her as DML we’d NEVER lose the House!!

A really tough choice . . .
