State Dept. Meltdown at Benghazi Hearing
Commentary ^ | 10/10/2012 | Alana Goodman

The Obama administration’s Benghazi response continued to unravel at the House Oversight Committee hearing today, as State Department officials struggled unsuccessfully to get their stories straight.

Ambassador Patrick Kennedy defended UN Ambassador Susan Rice’s claim on September 16 that the attack was part of a spontaneous protest that erupted over an anti-Islam video, saying that anyone at the State Department would have said the same thing as Rice based on the intelligence available at the time. “If any administration official, including any career official, were on television on Sunday, September 16, they would have said what Ambassador Rice said. The information she had at that point from the intelligence community is the same that I had at that point,” said Kennedy.

But, as Republicans on the Oversight Committee pointed out, that appears to contradict Kennedy’s comments from a September 12 unclassified briefing, when he reportedly called it a terrorist attack.

Another State Department official, Charlene Lamb, wrote in her prepared testimony (but did not read aloud) that she was able to monitor the attack “in almost real-time” once a Diplomatic Security agent activated the imminent danger notification system. Yet she didn’t explain why the State Department and other administration officials initially said spontaneous protests were responsible for the attack, if there had been officials monitoring it in real-time.

I think we need to start posting the truth on ALL these sites in the comments section. Trolling with the truth.

Irenic ~: “ They spread danger, destruction and humiliation for the US with their bogus claims.”

I believe that pretty well summarizes this whole administration ; except for the fact that it also arms and supports agents / countries who seek our demise.

According to the State Dept. testimony on C-span today , there are 30,000 - 40,000 shoulder fired missles that are missing in Libya .
My question is : How many of those did our administration provide the Muslim Brotherhood , and thus arm the Al Quada ?

I don’t think it’ll ever see the light of day, in our lifetime, except where it’s written right now. Look at how they’ve buried F&F, foreign fund raising etc etc etc. This’d be bigger than Watergate if it ever fully came out.

If the `main stream media’ controls the present—and they do—then they control the past. Since they control the past, they control the future.
The MSM is the Democrats’ outer party. They are the main reason every election isn’t a blowout for the candidate opposing the Democrats.

Lies! Lies! And I do not believe the recent death of a second border patrol was caused by friendly fire, either. NOTHING reported by this admin is the truth.

I read that a few weeks ago - it makes way more sense than any of the other garbage these Liars are perpetrating on this country.

I am somewhat lost as to what would be gained by throwing the Ambassador to the jackals....it readily appears he was targeted, but why?....is there some connection with his sexual preference, and, and.....others(?)....then to have the “tale” of the video, organized throughout the administration...smells of preparation...no one knows of the video in the general sense...so, how come the very senior levels of administration, were aware....

Excellent point. Did that come from you or was it a response at the hearing?

“saying that anyone at the State Department would have said the same thing as Rice”

Anyone? Speak for yourself. No one was saying that in my office.

I read somewhere (sorry, I forget where) that Øbozo wanted a “wag the dog” crisis where he could save the day - right before the election. Unfortunately (for all concerned) BenghaziGate went horribly wrong.

I can’t say if I subscribe to that scenario but I do know that Øbozo will do or say ANYTHING to get what he wants.

If this is in fact all true, it is a profoundly damnable admission in itself. The State Department has ACCESS TO ALL THE INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES OF THE U.S., INCLUDING THE CIA.

That would unequivocally classify those intelligence agencies (or the State Department) as monumentally incompetent. Criminally so.

The Keystone Kops of international first world countries' intelligence services.
Just how many hundreds of billions$ are the cumulative budgets of all the US intelligence agencies combined?

I didn't think it possible, but Susan Rice is more clueless and incompetent than Madeline Halfbright! And twice as arrogant.

The sad thing is that nothing will happen to these misshapen-headed clods.

I would not put too much money on that bet.

Columbus Day reminded of something that should be obvious : America was not discovered. It was built. With the work, blood and sweat of people determined to be free.

And the descendants of those builders and creators of the greatest country in history are royally pissed!
They will no longer suffer socialist fools, trying to learn on the job to continue destroying the dream!
