Obama Intelligence Director on Benghazi Criticism: ‘Enough Already’
Breitbart ^ | 10/10/12 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 10/10/2012 8:36:55 PM PDT by Nachum

James Clapper, director of National Intelligence (DNI), has come out swinging against his critics, just two weeks after his public affairs director said that US intelligence had initially labeled the attacks on our Benghazi consulate “spontaneous.”

Back on September 28, the DNI public affairs director explained, “We provided that initial assessment to Executive Branch officials and members of Congress, who used that information to discuss the attack publicly and provide updates as they became available. As we learned more ... we revised our initial assessment to reflect new information indicating that it was a deliberate and organized terrorist attack carried out by extremists.”

But today, Clapper denied that his office had done anything wrong. “The challenge is always a tactical warning, the exact insights ahead of time that such an attack is going to take place and obviously we did not have that,” he said, in particularly Clintonian language. “This gets into the mysteries versus secrets thing. If people don't behave, emit a behavior or talk or something else ahead of time to be detected, it's going to be very hard to predict an exact attack and come up with an exact attack …. I flew back to Washington, and I'm reading the media clips about the hapless, hopeless, helpless, inept, incompetent DNI, because I acknowledged publicly that we didn't instantly have that 'God's eye, God's ear' certitude about an event that I mentioned earlier. It made me want to go right back to Australia.”

Oh no, Mr. Director... it's not NEARLY enough.

In fact, the fun is only just starting.

If you can’t stand the heat Mr. Clapper...go back to Australia, and stay there.

Isn't this Clapper the schmuck who said the Moslem Brotherhood was a peaceful secular organization? A real genius at work apparently.

So Clapper is the ‘brain’ for this administration? And he got what intel that gave him the intelligence there was a spontaneous demonstration over a nasty video. And that spontaneous demonstration got hijacked by the offended protesters and they went on a bloody rampage??? I am glad somebody is finally taking responsibility for spreading false information.

Whoever is keeping the list please put this man in the top 20.

Is that the "Most Embarassing White Guy" list?

Here's some of his resume:

In February, 2011, when mass demonstrations were bringing down Mubarak's presidency in Egypt, Clapper told a House Intelligence Committee hearing that:

"The term 'Muslim Brotherhood'...is an umbrella term for a variety of movements, in the case of Egypt, a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which has eschewed violence and has decried Al Qaeda as a perversion of Islam," ... "They have pursued social ends, a betterment of the political order in Egypt, et cetera.....In other countries, there are also chapters or franchises of the Muslim Brotherhood, but there is no overarching agenda, particularly in pursuit of violence, at least internationally."

In March 2011, Clapper was heard at the United States Senate Committee on Armed Services and commented on the 2011 Libyan civil war that “over the longer term” Gaddafi “will prevail”... During the same hearing he was also questioned when he neglected to list Iran and North Korea among the nuclear powers that might pose a threat to the United States.

I couldn't recall anything about James Clapper other than his response in June of this year about the leaking of classified information. There was something else in my memory files that I couldn't get out of my brain cabinet. I did a search. Aha! This was it.
Unfortunately, some in our highest levels of government are unwilling to speak publicly about the threat posed by Radical Islam. At one point, James Clapper, U.S. Director of National Intelligence, told a House Intelligence Committee hearing that the Muslim Brotherhood is no threat to America.

In February of 2011, Clapper, who oversees 16 American intelligence and investigative agencies, testified that Egypt’s branch of the Muslim Brotherhood movement was “a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which has eschewed violence and has decried al-Qaeda as a perversion of Islam.” A spokesman for Clapper later said, “He is well aware that the Muslim Brotherhood is not a secular organization.” But he let stand Clapper’s other remarks.
