Only 29 percent of Orange County's public schools met the 2012 federal No Child Left Behind testing targets, according to figures released Thursday. "I would not say 71 percent of our schools are failing," county Superintendent Al Mijares said.

You have to accept there is a problem before you can fix it.

O.C. or Orange County is one of the richest areas in California.

Odd. The link lists FERMIN LEAL and SCOTT MARTINDALE as the authors.

But clearly you have claimed authorship, demonstrated above.

Isn’t that crazy how that happens?

Here is the caption from the photo:

Jeanne Matson, center, a fifth-grade teacher at Prospect Elementary in Orange, works with students on their social studies project to built a Native American village in this 2011 file photo. Prospect Elementary had among the county’s strongest improvements on the API in 2011.

Unions, a useless border policy and a Commie cirriculum eventually lead to someone like Obama rising, promising goodies and freebies for a vote.

CA is lost, I live here, but want to move.

As a wise elder once said: “He wouldn’t say s*** if his mouth was full of it.” IOW, it’s doubtful this person could recognize cold, hard facts without trying to put a spin on it.

meanwhile another report has half the state’s senior graduates as Okey Dokey to advance in life, the other half condemned to a life of drive-bys,drugs and obama phones in need of updates.. and the California teachers union amongst others is puckered tighter than a dead knot and trying to defeat Prop 32,, the unions & their coercion of dues and useage thereof are under attack big time..

I would not say 71 percent of our schools are failing," county Superintendent Al Mijares said. "No Child Left Behind is the current law schools have to adhere to. Schools need to continue working to meet these standards. But the way the law measures student achievement does not reflect the gains our schools make each year."

But the teachers unions are opposed to teacher performance pay because there's 'no way to measure performance'. (The only job in the world where it's IMPOSSIBLE to apply performance standards!)

Guess that is why we put in links then. After being on here since the mid 1990’s and posting the same way you are the first to point it out. Either you are bored or way to uptight.

Yes, I’m dreadfully sorry you attributed the material fraudulently.

Clearly I am in the wrong. I shall try harder in the future
to ensure your posts are properly attributed. Mea Culpa.

President Obama announced a new education program today. It is titled THE NO UNION TEACHER LEFT BEHIND ACT.
“The only way to truly measure academic success is to see how much money the employees give to the Democrat party”, he said.

This is the same Orange County written about in an article by a teacher who was upset that parents are pulling their kids out in droves to homeschool, telling her they have no faith in the public schools and they aren’t even worth trying to fix. The article appeared in my local paper last year.

Some parts of Orange County are heavily Mexican, such as Santa Ana and Anaheim. Irvine and the areas along the coast are affluent.
