Gotta give credit where credit is due. The Kenyan’s camp knew their man. They understood Biden’s limitations. They chopped the mission down to the man. They knew that Biden couldn’t beat Rep. Ryan on points, couldn’t run on the anti-Christ’s record, couldn’t show himself smarter than Rep. Ryan.

But he could get in the way of Rep. Ryan making a clear case.

In boxing terms, opposite of rope-a-dope, his strategy was to get in there close and clinch Rep. Ryan, so that Rep. Ryan could never make a clean, forceful punch. While in the clinch, he delivered a few glancing low blows, but nothing really landed.

The “moderator” made no effort to force Biden to stop clinching, and in fact, often joined in the fun.

Tactical win for the Dems: their campaign didn’t get destroyed. Strategic win for the Republicans: Every day they maintain or slightly build their lead is a day closer to victory.

I was taken aback at how biden was yelling and wagging his finger at the moderator. I was wondering if he would have done that to a man and also wondering why his comments weren’t directed to Ryan, but rather the woman at the table...

Awful debate. Biden’s smirks, use of the word MALARKEY, and constant interruptions were just too much. The one thing I wished Ryan would have hit on HARDER and would have shut Biden up would have been to hit hard on Harry Reid! Biden’s entire line of attack was the Republican House Obstruction. If I were Ryan, I would have pointed out SENATE OBSTRUCTION and SENATE TABLING OF BILLS!

I think the old adage, “Never Wrestle with a Pig” comes to mind.

That CNBC poll was an online poll, not a real poll. Later in the evening it had Biden ahead.

Of the two actual polls I’ve seen, Ryan won the CNN one and Biden won the CBS version of the same.

Personally, I think Biden was so offputting that Ryan wins by default.

I watched the whole thing — and it was painful to watch. I don’t know how Ryan could sit there and restrain himself from hauling off and socking Biden in the face.

Alcohol can produce the sort of deranged behaviour Biden displayed last night but only for a relatively short time frame followed by lethargy, slurred speech, and snoring. I agree he was "on" something but believe it was more in the category of an amphetamine. Maybe he was doing a test run for the "momma's little helpers" Obama will be using next week. The Colombian Red Bud (or was it something from his last holiday on Maui?) last week did not seem to produce a favourable effect.

CBS was an online poll as well. Only two polls that I’ve seen so far that were not online polls are CNN and Pew. Both had Ryan winning.

I’ve been thinking over a few things. I was rather upset that Paul didn’t comeback with some zingers when the opportunities were there. However, I’ve come to the conclusion that he just let Biden act out and let the American public see for themselves what a buffoon he really is. Sort of like ignoring your child when he/she acts up and not giving in. When they settle down, then you have a conversation. I really think they wanted Paul to react so that Biden could deliver what they thought would be a true knock-out punch and Paul didn’t give him the satisfaction. I also think Paul just wanted to get it over with and get the heck out of there. He was tag-teamed.

Thought the same exact thing after the debate. Reminded me of a boring heavyweight champ match where one guy just hangs on the other one for 2 out of every 3 minutes of each round.

One thing I wish Ryan would have done....turn to Joe Biden while he was smiling and say ‘I really don’t think the American people find a nuclear Iran to be that funny, Joe...so please tell me whay you do.’

Not just you. Definitely a lack of impulse control & “mood elevation” there.
Then again, considering the general condition of the left, I guess it shouldn’t have been too surprising. I feel lucky that he wasn’t slingin’ the S & F all over the place, myself.
