Analysis: Feisty Biden gives Democrats reason to smile (and MSM gives Freepers reason to LOL)
CBS News ^ | October 12, 2012 | Brian Montopoli

Vice President Joe Biden spent much of Thursday night's vice presidential debate smiling - often incredulously - at the comments of rival Paul Ryan.

He wasn't the only Democrat smiling.

Thanks to President Obama's widely-panned debate performance last week, supporters of the current administration have been despondent over polls that show Mitt Romney pulling even in the race. It wasn't just that the president's national polling lead had disappeared - it was that the man leading the charge was so passive and passionless when given the chance to make his case to the American people.

No one is going to accuse Biden of a lack of passion. He dominated the debate: The oft-smirking vice president made a passionate case for the Obama administration's performance over the past four years and regularly interrupted his rival, deeming his claims what "we Irish call...malarkey." After pointing out that Ryan had solicited stimulus funds despite attacking the stimulus package, Biden burst into laughter in response to Ryan's sputtering defense, saying, "I love that, I love that." Republicans immediately deemed the performance "unhinged," but it was a tonic for Democrats: A forceful articulation of the values in which they believe and an unapologetic attack on the Republican argument.

[Snip]

But the night was all about Biden, who challenged everything and gave the sort of passionate appeal to middle-class voters that Democrats have been hungry for ever since the president's bad night last week. While Ryan was disciplined and relentlessly on message, Biden was, for lack of a better word, real - a fighter who appeared genuinely incredulous about what his rival was pushing.

Don’t know for sure if he gave the dems a reason to smile... but something sure was making HIM smile last night. Maybe he wasn’t being condescending at all... maybe Martha was taking her foot and..

I think Biden was sent out there to throw red meat at their base. And that’s a huge tell to their desperation! It’s less than a month to election day and they’re still trying to fire up their base! A little late for that, isn’t it? LOL!

That’s a great opportunity for a photoshop. Wish I knew how to do it.

That would also make a great SNL skit.

In my estimation they could have easily replaced Biden with Alec Baldwin and we never would have known the difference.

The response of the left to Biden’s rude behavior on the nationally televised debate is/was predictable. They love it and insanely believe the rest of us love the insanity and rude behavior.

With over 70 years of life and at least 60 of those years watching liberals lie and feel superior. Dacades ago, I came to the conclusion, that they are all mentally unstable and there is no cure for them.

They all suffer from Illusory Superiority Responses. Often this cognitive bias increases with years of faux education and their illusory social status in their increasing unstable/immature minds.

Illusory Superiority Response is a cognitive bias that causes people to overestimate their positive qualities and abilities and to underestimate their negative qualities, relative to others. This makes them under estimate real winners like Ronald Reagan.

So they label anyone, who dares to challenge their insane/rude Illusory Superiority Responses, as red necked, stupid, knuckle draggers rather than listen to what we have learned over the years, decades and centuries from history.

With the instant reality, we now have with the internet, Fox and social nets, the left wing mediots are losing their ability to lie and cover their beloved Obama’s/Biden’s unstable responses.

The rabid/mentally unstable hard core liberals love the Illusory Superiority responses of Obama/Biden/Pelosi/Reed and others.

However, the instant and nationwide exposed insanity of their Illusory Superiority responses is killing them with the independent voters.

For the couple of minutes I watched I'd define "feisty" as rude and obnoxious in this context.

Last night’s debate will be forgotten in a few days, UNLESS the president is foolish enough to listen to the liberal MSM’s accolades over Joe Biden’s performance and try to imitate it next week.

Joe Biden proved last night that a Democratic VICE-presidential candidate can energize his base by being obnoxiously rude, aggressive and arrogant while laughing like a lunatic. That’s because the liberal Democratic base is also rude, aggressive, etc. However, he lost the overall debate.

On the other hand, candidates for the presidency must act presidential — serious, strong, articulate, Romney-esque, the opposite of Crazy Joe — in order to win debates.

But is it possible for Barack Obama to act like anyone or anything except the very limited, semi-articulate Barack Obama for a full ninety minutes without a Teleprompter? Probably not, but it will be interesting to see next week who his handlers want him to try to imitate. If it’s Joe Biden, it will be a big mistake.

Haven't heard anyone mention this, but Biden's "performance" made me think of my grandchildren and what I would wish them to learn from these debates. In that regard, what a sorry example for the youth of America Biden presented in how to discuss and debate principles and issues with an opponent!

As I stated on another thread today:

Considering that one of these men might, on a moment's notice, be required to sit with the leader of another nation contesting for liberty, every citizen who watched Biden should be seriously concerned.

Actually, in my opinion, there was little difference between Biden's performance and that of Obama, in that both were disrespectful and derisive. One's expression showed a sullen, resentful, petulant attitude. The other displayed an equally appalling disconnect between the seriousness of the discussion and emotional stability and expression.

Both were arrogant and may have underestimated the innate intelligence of millions of citizen/voters of the United States of America and their ability to recognize the difference between bravado and substance of character, respect for others, and seriousness of the challenges to America's liberty.

We both know as “oldies” to never argue with any hard core liberal.

Use their insanity as a way to defeat them without arguing with them.

He DID make many Democrats smile.

The community organizer types who always want to get out there and get in your face. The OWS crowd that will storm a school to shout threats and taunts to some Bank President’s middle-schooler. Union nitwits who are always carrying out petty little acts of sabotage against “the man”, etc.

Yes we do, and I read Ann Coulters "How to Argue with a Liberal if you Must". Didn't do me any good, rofl.

I have a grandson in college back east, he is a Marine and did some time in Iraq, now he is furthering a career. He just took up a position in student government, and asking questions. He is a strong conservative, with a head on his shoulder, reminds me in mannerisms of Paul Ryan.

I have given him some advice, and how to watch for the pitfalls the liberals put in your way. Told him what my dad said: "God gave you a brain USE IT, never lend it out"

Grandpa: I took the liberty of copying your POST and sent it to him, you said it so well.

The happiest day of my life was knowing that all my grandchildren are God Fearing Conservatives. I am getting tired of the fight and now I can hand the family conservative baton over to them.
