Wait... Is Florida an anomaly because of the Cuban population? ‘Cuz if Obama’s below 50% in other heavily Hispanic states, he's beyond toast— he should quit now!

First the Jewish vote, now the Hispanic vote.

I was talking to a lady yesterday who told me that 4 years ago she worked with Hispanics for Obama here in Mobile. Said six months after the election she asked herself what the heck she’d done by voting for him.....the group leader called her earlier this week to ask if she’d work this year and when she said no, that she was voting for Romney, the “friend” (they’ve been best friends since they were 13) cussed her out and hung up on her. Libs are sooooooo civil, aren’t they!

Yeah, the Cubans have a good deal of political sense.

Yes, The majority of Cubans are republican, and we have a huge Cuban population. I would love this to be true across the county, but I don't think Florida is a good predictor of how Hispanics will vote.

Yes, I think Florida is an anomaly. In Nevada the Hispanic support for Obama has not wavered. In fact, the increased Hispanic population is one of the major reasons why the state has gone blue in recent years after decades of being a red state.

Indeed, it is.

But the same trend seems to be manifesting itself across the Hispanic population in other states.

It would not surprise me if Romney won at least 45% of the Hispanic vote in Texas (Bush won 40%).

FL is *very much* an anomaly because of the Cubans. Anyone who extrapolates from this poll to thinking that Romney will do well in Mexican-Hispanic states need to curb their enthusiasm down a couple hundred notches.

But he wasn’t going to win California anyway and if the Cubsna put Mitt over the top in Florida, that’s good enough.

Romney can and WILL put Obama’s candidacy and Presidency away on Tuesday night. The only ‘trick’ left in Obama’s dirty bag is to pull a ‘Biden’ on Tuesday night, and that is not his candidate ‘persona’, it may be his ‘fundraiser’ persona, but it’s not (and hasn’t been) his 2008 persona. He is going DOWN! Period!

Cuban-Americans in FL have been in the R camp for decades now. The shift can’t be attributed to that group.

That’s because the Cubans don’t think like the mexican hispanics of Cali where I live. Here if it’s libre’, they vote Dumocrat but in FL, their families have voted Pubbie’ for generations. My cousin works in Dade Co (unfortunately) and has had Cuban GF’s and their families are GOP.
