I understand your point of view but i think that the salient point here is that the Azerbajanis are becoming more free to choose the values they will adopt. If it’s J-Lo’s butt, that’s a net loss. If it’s freedom to abandon islam and adopt a more rational approach to life, that’s a net positive. I’m certainly willing to take the chance on freedom; it works almost everywhere.
It sounds like they are lax or “moderate” Muslims even now. The ultimate question: are they willing to consider the claims of Christianity?
