Eyes are on the voters in town hall-style debates (Rigged?)
AP ^ | 10/15/2012 | Connie Cass

....Town halls have lost some of their spontaneity. The 80 or so undecided voters chosen for Tuesday's event must submit their questions in advance and moderator Candy Crowley of CNN will decide which people to call on. She can pose her own follow-up questions.

In 1992, questions weren't screened beforehand.

Gee, what could go wrong here?

This is such an outrageous opportunity to cheat that I'm dumbfounded. What's to stop CNN people - who are entirely in the tank for Zero - from handing the 0bama camp the questions beforehand?

And then Crowley gets to pick who to ask?

This isn't a "town-hall" debate. It's an 0bama campaign rally where Mitty gets sucker punched.

Someone please tell me why the RNC and Romney campaign has allowed a barrage of Liberals to moderate the presidential debates.

These contrived dog-and-pony shows in-the-round are silly.

Who has such a “town meeting?” Maybe a PTA meeting.

More what we need is a breakroom brawl like actually occur around the country.

It’s not a townhall meeting it’s a magic act con. Why the Republicans are stupid enough to fall for this is beyond me. Amazing the first debate was fairly even handed.

You can recognize the members of the RNC who arranged these debates. They are wearing the “KICK ME” signs.

The 2012 debates are emblematic of the way the Stupid Party snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

Yes, it’s rigged. EVERYONE knows it’s going to be rigged. ALL these debates have been rigged in some form or fashion, in favor of the Democommies, since they began holding them. Sheesh... who really thinks the Romney camp doesn’t understand this or hasn’t prepared for it? No offense, I just wish we’d all stop repeating it ad nauseum.

The 80 or so undecided voters...”

Meaning, they might possibly consider the Green Party nominee under certain circumstances....

I can understand why there needs to be some filter for questions asked. Some might be incoherent, obviously based on disproven facts, totally irrelevant to the election, etc. However, I think there should be a mechanism whereby ALL of the questions submitted by participants are recorded and made available for public view . . . just for the sake of transparency and honesty.

Otherwise, you have the potential for a THINO - town hall in name only where the moderator interjects a stronger bias than the participants. Assuming the participants are fairly chosen, which I understand is a monumental assumption, any bias in questions asked should reflect the bias of the town hall participants, and not that of the moderator.

First Question: “What will you do for me on _____ issue?” Next Question: “What will you do for me on _____ issue?”... Candy Crowley interrupting Mitt Romney and “tripping up” Mitt Romney, each and every chance that she will get during the entire debate. The complete summary of the second debate. No need to watch it.

If there was any doubt that the Republicans are the stupid party then this development should establish it as fact. Why they would agree to this format, without CNN signing on to it, is absolutely mind-boggling.

This is a set-up of epic proportion. The media, led by blow pig Candy Crowley, will lead the charge. Reince Preibus, or whatever the hell his name is, should be fired. Crowley called the Romney/Ryan ticket a "death wish." Why in the world would the party of stupidity agree to having her anywhere near a debate/town-hall meeting? Oh yeah, because they're stupid.

The fat slop’s career is at stake here. It’s either sink or swim for her. She knows that if she doesn’t sink Romney her career will be over. Look what they did to Leher, they literally crucified him and she’ll do whatever it takes to upstage that Martha *itch! She will be aiming for the Hero badge in the RAT establishment. I wish the RNC had some guts and common sense choosing moderators...sigh..the stupid party once again screws the pooch!

I don’t care how “rigged” any of the debates are. Demonstrable Democrat Liberal governance cannot stand against Conservative logic and reason. Romney demonstrated that he can convey this.

"Crowley gets to pick who to ask"

Oh Joy....You can bet she's busy studying photos of the Obamabot Plants that will be in attendance, so she can select them for the questions that they were provided by Axlegrease and Associates, beforehand.

Yes, it’s an extremely precarious set up. Moderator Candy Crowley has previously called the Romney-Ryan candidacy a death wish. CNN has selected the audience members. The producers have selected the questions that will be asked, and Crowley knows what they are. She herself gets to ask follow-up questions if she thinks an answer hasn’t been clear enough. Plus, I don’t think anyone would be surprised if we found out that the Obozo campaign has been given the questions in advance. What could possibly go wrong?

If Mitt holds his own in this arena, there’s no stopping him. The entire deck has been deliberately and strategically stacked against him. IMO, all he needs to do is fight to a draw in this one and keep the polls static. If he wins this “debate” decisively, the American people will hoist him up on their shoulders and carry him to the White House. No pressure there, huh?

Mitt seems compelled to prove he can run the gauntlet without whining.

I wonder what Hugh Hewitt will have to say about this? He claims to be a personal friend of Crowley and is always sticking up for her fairness and objectivity.

I’m guessing by Wednesday morning, not so much.

Obama’s people handed Crowley the questions, and not the other way around.
