As Mitt Romney's campaign announced on Monday that it raised a personal-best $170 million in September, his top donors are gathering at Manhattans Waldorf Astoria hotel for a three-day retreat at which they will attend strategy sessions, rub elbows with Republican luminaries and cheer on their candidate at a debate party featuring comedian Dennis Miller.
The $170 million figure is almost as much as the near-record $181 million that President Obama raised last month.

WOOT
Annnnd, he's already bought the media saturation.
This is good news. September was Romney’s worst month, from where you had GOPers openly running to leftwing press to count Romney out, non-stop polling showing Romney out, and then comes the debate.
They apparently had a huge donation surge after the debate too.
September was Romney’s worst month as far as perceived “gaffes”, as well as polls. Yet he had his BEST fundraising month. Really good news.
Absolutely
We made 2 donations in September and both required those security codes. The Romney campaign is very quick to comply with the law, acknowledge the donation and THEN send a thank you note-which is more than I hear some people get from that OTHER campaign.
The last weeks will be a campaign the likes of which no one has seen before.
Are any of the Dem senators running from Obama in their contests? I know several opted out of attending the DNC convention, but haven’t had any recent information on those candidates who are distancing themselves from The One.
I don’t really know....I have noticed that I rarely see a local office holder ‘introduce’ him at rallies.
Funny how few rallies he’s had this year. Just can’t attract the crowds of ‘08, so he seems to be focusing on raising money from his millionaire and billionaire friends in the parlors of New York City and San Francisco.
When the Obama figures for Sept were reported last week by KOLO, the Reno ABC affiliate, the anchor clearly said:
Obama AND THE DNC raised $181 Million in September. That is 2 entities-—not just Obama.
Can anyone clear this up?
I think that the $181 million figure does refer to BOTH the DNC & Obama direct, which would then be deliberate to distort Barry’s fundraising versus Mitt’s.
I have never seen that number reported.
What is the unpaid Accounts Payable number for each campaign????
