Kathleen Sebelius, the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, confirmed today that church-affiliated hospitals, agencies and universities will be required to provide contraception and sterilization in the health insurance they provide employees.

They just have to buy insurance and the insurance company will do the dirty work "for free".

No word on what happens with organizations large enough to self insure. Do they have to hire a separate insurance company whose only purpose is to provide birth control, abortions and sterilizations. All "for free", of course. It's an immorality firewall.

I spoke about this statement by Biden and its refutation by the USCCB on Saturday evening White Mass and program by the Catholic Medical Association. At best, Biden was parsing the meaning of “religious institution” as proposed by the HHS mandate. At worst, he was simply lying.
