He was one of my professors at the University of New Orleans in 1981. Interesting guy, though I was at antipodes to him politically. The historian Stephen Ambrose was another of my professors. Good school, UNO.

I worked long and hard in SD to get him out of the senate.

A good man, in spite of his decidedly hard-left political leanings.. a far sight different than the demented moonbats who run the democrat party these days.

McGovern is obviously in political error, in that once his value to the party had ended, and he was over the age of 65, he should have immediately committed assisted suicide.

Doubly so because he failed the agenda, and there is only one punishment for failure.

It shows doctrinal failure on their part that the Democrat party has so many superfluous and consumptive “elders” that by their own lights should have been deleted as ‘non-persons’.

It’d be a shame if he passes before Obama takes his title away for major electoral ass-whupping of the century.. passing the baton to the next generation of politicos with agendas.

WW2 B-24 pilot, decent guy, misdirected at times in his life. Read the book, Wild Blue - good story. May he find comfort and peace.

"He was a member of an older generation of honorable Democrats."

Oh BS! He was a worthless rat bastard who towed the rat party line and aided and assisted the enemy by doing everything he could to get us out of Viet Nam. It's politicians like him who wouldn't let us win.

As I recall he was for fags in the military as well. (There was SOME reason the fudge-packers all backed liked him.) TYPICAL libtard!

the Democratic presidential candidate who lost to President Richard Nixon in a historic landslide,

Here's hoping he can pass on the mantle to Obama before he passes on himself.

McGovern, and his McGovern Amendment, etc, was responsible for the deaths of many of my Cambodian and Vietnamese friends.

In fact, he was indirectly responsible for the horrible death by flaying of a pro-Khmer Rouge Cambodian professor here in the US, Sokom Hing. Hing went back to Cambodia after acting as a key member of the Hanoi Lobby here during the war, told the KR that he was their representative in the US, and they tortured him to death in the main torture center in Phnom Penh.

McGovern abandoned the Cambodians to the No. Vietnamese/KR by his actions.

I don’t forgive the Nazis who sent my European family to the gas chambers of Auschwitz and Belzec, why should I forget McGovern for making another Holocaust/genocide possible?

He was a fool and people died because of it. If a member of your family or circle died because of someone’s blind stupidity, would you forgive them? I forgive those who truly repent, not those who make excuses for the harm they have done.

I hope he lives long enough to see Obama go down in flames.

0bama probably hopes he kicks at the right time for the dims to reap some sympathy votes.

Wouldn't doubt it in the least. He tried it with his momma's health in 2008. We've already seen the Wellstone memorial rally. Even Joe Biden got into the game at the VP debate with trotting out his wife's decades old death one more time. At least now he no longer lies about the other driver being drunk at the time. His wife pulled out into oncoming traffic. Maybe it was a deliberate act to escape the idiot she married.

Would you want God to hold you to the same standard? That you can never be forgiven for things you have done?
