Police say an eastern Indiana man has been shot dead while trying to rob a pizzeria.

Richmond police said 30-year-old Freddie McCoy of Richmond was shot by an employee of Mercurio's Pizza about 10 p.m. Saturday.

Capt. Jim Branam tells the Palladium-Item that McCoy died at Reid Hospital after being treated by medical personnel at the scene of the shooting. It's not clear from the report if McCoy had a weapon.

A feud like that could easily cross state lines and move off to other parts of the country. And whata mean, "hills"??

Well, OK, they're not quite the Rockies, but they sure are purdy...

As a kid I started camping at a place called Devils Lake, in Wisconsin. The bluffs are about 600 ft tall and where I first started climbing.

Not me climbing. Just a pic I found online.

Actually, Devils Lake is a popular spot for people to practice before heading out west for serious climbing.

As a kid I fell in love with Devils Lake and the outdoors and dreamt of what the mountains would be like with a high mountain lake. I never made it to the Rocky Mountains until I was an adult (physically not mentally). I was 26 when a buddy taught me to ski (at a place about 15 minutes from Devils Lake) and made my first trip to the Rockies the following year, to go skiing. Finally found my first mountain lake about a half dozen years later.

Man, do I wish I had the opportunity again to move the hell out of New York City! My father was from Tennessee, near the Smokey mountains. And I lived in beautiful Upstate, NY, for a short while about 25 years ago. Thanks for the pics.

Actually, I live 26 miles from downtown Chicago. I try to make it out west a couple of times a year.

My goal is to retire out west, preferably in or around Estes Park, Co. Population 5800, Elevation 7522

At the bottom of the picture you'll see Lake Estes and the town of Estes Park. The Mountains in the background are to the west, in Rocky Mountain National Park. The town is at 7522 feet. The snow line is at approximately 12,500 feet. Longs peak, the highest point in RMNP is 14,259 feet.

Very nice! Not to take this thread too far adrift (it may be too late), but my childhood visits to the Smokey’s inspired me to later take up geology as a major. Unfortunately, I never completed the degree.
