Knowing What You Know Now, Would You Have Backed Romney From The Primary?

Posted on 10/16/2012 10:52:22 AM PDT by SarahPalin2012

Or would you have still backed Cain/Gingrich/Santorum/Christie/Palin (whoever your choice was from before or during the primary). I think it's an interesting question. Mitt wasn't my first choice, but am glad that he is doing so well. Would you now prefer Mitt over another who may or may not have done as well? Of course, I myself am a completely committed supporter of Mitt Romney since the primary was decided.

Do you think a rapist would go back to a woman he raped a few weeks later, kidnap her, and perform an abortion?

Should your daughter get raped, do you want her to have that child, and tell the kid they’re the product of rape? Would you force your daughter to have that child? What would you say if it was your brother that raped your daughter?

I REALLY got on the MITT Bandwagon when he picked Paul Ryan as his VP. GREAT PICK!

LIKEWISE! I was energized to see Ryan come on board just as I was 4 years ago when Palin energized the waning McCain campaign.

No. But I hope he is a better President than I fear he will be.

No, I would have still had supported, in order, Palin, Cain, and Gingrich.

Beat me to it. Those are my picks and in that order. Mittens was and still is way down on the bottom of my list.

Romney was not my first choice but I have to agree that he is probably our best candidate for the general election.

I would have to think that Gingrich would be 10 points down at this point. I never did see the appeal that Gingrich had here. He's a career Beltway-insider bureaucrat who wouldn't change a thing so far as how Washington operated. If he managed to get elected, he would guarantee a massive Democrat victory in 2016. The hate we saw directed towards Bush in 2008 would have been multiplied by two and many conservatives would have been a part of that.

But that's if Gingrich would even get elected in the first place. He is toxic to a lot of women and his personal baggage would have dominated the campaign. Plus, sorry to say, Callista (Trophy Wife #2) is just creepy as all get-out.

Santorum would have been crushed in a general election as he is just not ready for the role of president. We are talking about a guy who left the campaign trail in the spring to do his own taxe returns on home computer. That might sound folksy to some of us but really exposed him as not exactly C-level executive material. Can you imagine Romney firing up TurboTax on his family room PC?

Nope, there are several better conservatives over Romney.

I will vote for him though, to stop the Zero.

Why -- even now -- would we "favor" somebody who thinks it's A-OK to dismember a younger Jessica Ridgeway if an abortionist tells mom that her "health" isn't quite up to snuff? Romney thinks it's A-OK for abortions for "health of the mom."

That's Obama's position. Will you be voting for him?

He’s still a liberal and despite the fantasies of him being a great conservative, he will end up disappointing a lot of people.

Romney: The Republican version of Obama.

Though I do have to wonder if perhaps the disappointment will be enough to launch a 3rd party.

“But I want Obama to lose. I want him to be seen as a LOSER. I want his agenda discredited. There’s a great psychological value in all that, which could last years. And hopefully help to prevent his loathsome brand of marxist/redistributionist anti-Americanism from making a comeback anytime soon.”

Post of the day, imho!

Preferred newt but no way in hell would he stand any chance on a national level. It would have been a slaughter.

It’s a tough call. I think what Romney lacks on his stances, he has shown he makes up for in competency and leadership.

It’s hard to imagine Cain and Gingrich (my favorites) being as effective as Romney has been, or even having a prayer of winning against Obama.

I think I would’ve still been on the Cain Train out of principle, but I’m not unhappy that Romney won out.

Romney has been my choice from the beginning because I think he may have the administrative ability to sort through the morbidly bloated bureaucracy and fashion a functioning federal government ...

And therein lies the problem; the morbidly bloated bureaucracy are not legitimate functions of the Federal Government. Disbanding them would require far less effort, and be far more conductive toward managing the federal government... as well as helping to solve budget concerns.

” That’s as dumb as a Biden answer. So if you don’t get your preferred candidate in the primary, and support the eventual nominee, that’s selling out your principles? That’s being a crybaby and acting juvenile. “

You are not doing yourself any favors casting aspersions on a man who is your moral and intellectual SUPERIOR.

I was for Cain. I will vote for Romney because our so called leaders in the House & Senate are too cowardly to
EVER stand up to Obama. Apparently, 80% of the so-called Tea Party candidates who were sent to D.C. have been co-opted, as well. Obama is the worst threat to America in my 58 years, so I will do what I feel I have to do. Obama has to go. Romney is the last one standing.

With me, it’s a matter of trust. Can I trust him to dump Obamacare? Can I trust him on opening drilling? Can I trust him on any number of other issues.

I didn’t support him in the primaries but will bite the bullet in November. He’s got to be a tad better than Obama.

Something will have to happen because as the democrats became marxists, the GOP has gone largely democrat and its only going to get worse. Just take a look at the young republicans and college republicans. They are democrat through and through and they are the future of the party.

Cain was not a serious candidate anymore than I could walk off the street and expect to be made QB of the Chicago Bears.

Serious candidates actually win elected offices, outside of their own heads, that is.
