Apology for being wrong with a Benghazi fact-check is one thing, but it is the minor apology.

The major apology issued by Candy Crowley should be for “entering the debate”. Had she said, “Gov Romney, your time’s up.”, then it would have been related to process.

However, she — the moderator — got involved in the debate itself, commenting on the words of one candidate to his detriment and to the benefit of the other. She, the referee, decided to tackle the guy who had the ball. That isn’t just wrong about facts. It is unprofessional, and one can even argue , since she was wrong in her correction, that her intervention was unethical.

You are assuming that Crowley and her ilk have the capacity to even spell the words "professional", or "ethics", let alone are posesses of the slightest molecule of said qualities. That is an assumption I, myself, am unwilling at this juncture to make...

She threw the flag, tackled the ball carrier, then awarded the ball to the other team......

Well said.

"She, the referee, decided to tackle the guy who had the ball."

Excellent analogy.

This one act by Crowley was unprecedented in a presidential debate, and egregiously crossed the line of the debate moderator's role. It needs to be widely and loudly condemned by every Republican with a microphone.

It was literally an act of war, and the political right had damn well better read and react to it as such.
