HEMPSTEAD, New York — Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry slammed Republicans for turning last month's terrorist attack in Benghazi into a political issue, calling it a "disgrace," and contrasting the response to the deaths of four Americans there to the national response to the attacks on September 11, 2001.
"My view is that the people of the United States understand that when there is a tragedy that involves the loss of life in an embassy...you bond together as a country, and you don't make it a political football," he told reporters Tuesday night. "I don't remember a political football when 3,000 people died about 40 miles away from here and you had 9/11. There was no political football. We came together as a country. And I think it's disgraceful to make this a political issue."
Kerry said that both Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have taken responsibility for what happened.
"That should be enough for people, and it's a disgrace to come out and make that a political issue," he said. "A disgrace."

Including the lying and stonewalling? I want to know WHY they thought they had to do that .... and that answer is either something horridly nefarious that we haven't heard about yet OR it is strictly 'playing politics' because admitting there was a terrorist attack didn't fit the Obama campaign narrative. Romney can win this issue not by being a politician, but by being an outraged American citizen, like the rest of us. Obama is lying (yet again - just watch to see if his lips are moving) and it is easily proven, thanks to whoever in the WH sent Rice out - betcha it was Jarrett.

I think Romney got bad advice from his handlers, telling him tread cautiously, for visual effect and for mistaken beliefs that Americans don't CARE about Benghazi.

Obama's actions would have been more like President Bush calling the 9/11 attacks "an accident" or "an unfortunate event which we brought upon ourselves".

Let’s see....the Obama Administration was warned time and again that there were problems in Libya. Their response was to reduce security. Trying to compare Benghazi to 9/11 is a disgrace, but then, what can you expect from Lurch.
OK John, now you are on record as not caring about those missing Libyan anti-aircraft missiles. If even one of those missiles is used in a terrorist attack, you’re really going to have a long face because it will be the end of the Democrat party. It was the Democrat “We Are The World!” foreign policy that allowed those missiles to get loose. Sleep well.
That's a fact. They just had to wait for their "talking points". Then they hammered him for not flying back to DC. This line was to give the public the perception he was "scared" and out of touch when he landed in Omaha. So, John "Fn" Kerry can KMA.

Kerry framed the debate, so let’s run with it.
If Benghazi was 9/11, then, as the libs tell it, the intelligence was right there in the daily presidential briefing, which, as they tell it, Bush and Rice ignored, resulting in the worst attack since Pearl Harbor. And, similarly, the intel was right there for all to see about Benghazi, and obama, biden and clinton all chose to ignore it and deny additional security, resulting in mass murder in Libya.
If it was right to call for Bush’s impeachment for 9/11, then let’s throw this bum out for Benghazi.
So shove that up your obama, Kerry.
