Karl Rove: No Candidate Has Ever Lost With Numbers Like Mitt Romney Has Today (Video)
The Gateway Pundit ^ | 10/17/2012 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 10/17/2012 12:46:08 PM PDT by nhwingut

Karl Rove told Megyn Kelly today on America Live that no presidential candidate has ever lost an election leading with over 50 percent of likely voters in mid October. Mitt Romney has 51 percent of likely voters today.

“The Obama campaign has pulled down all of its negative advertising. And is now running virtually all positive ads in the battleground states heralding all the success of the last four years. This is very unusual because they have been constantly beating up on Romney. In recent weeks the president’s negatives have risen and Romney particularly after this debate has moved into a lead. You saw it in the Gallup poll you talked about. Six point lead, 51-45. Yesterday it was 50-46. This is the first time that Romney has hit 50 percent in the Gallup likely voter poll and the president has never hit 50 percent in the likely voter poll. And no candidate who has led in mid-October with 50 percent or more in the likely voter poll has ever gone on to lose.“

"Barring some sort of major surprise, this election is a done deal for Romney."

Under normal circumstances, I would readily agree with you; two things concern me, however:

The Chicago Thug Machine factor, and the inevitable "October Surprise."

Put together, the possibilities are downright scary.

I think these guys will pull out all the stops to hang on to their power.

and the president has never hit 50 percent

This was always the key. Even in September with the press totally and openly in tank, rigging poll and turning Obama missteps into Romney's problem... OBAMA was never over 50%.

I think most Americans really want a Republican. It’s just that we tend to offer candidates who may be right on most of the issues but end up doing embarrassing things that have nothing to do with the actual issues.

For example, you won’t see Ryan admitting that he was once a witch or that he was once the CEO of a fake wrestling organization. Romney may slip but he won’t make ‘Bushisms’ over and over again. These things have nothing to do with policy but they turn people off.

The rat invasion of 06 is partly to blame, but if rove is so great why was the end of Bush’s admin so lame?

And Bush never stood up against the $#1t thrown at him. That bugged me. DHS, TSA, NCLB also SUCK big time.

There is a rumor that the October surprise is zero droning the guy who led the Libya murders. If that’s their October surprise then I think we’re still in good shape.

Bush washed his hands of the GOP when the grassroots defeated his open border attempt.

He essentially let the GOP lose power because the grassroots defeated what he thought was a sure victory.

I have zero respect for either Bush.

I’m still not resting easy until I see our White House door hit Obama and Michelle in their @sses on their way out. I guess we can expect the usual missing Ms and Rs from the computer keyboards and other trashy, low life, scumbag things like they when the rest of the trailer trash leaves.

You are a good way to be.

We need to fight and get as greedy as possible and win everything. Romney will win by 55-45. No doubt. Where our greed comes in is with the Senate predominantly. I think we will get between 52-57 senators but we need to get real greedy and go for 57. That is sooooo critical. We also need to get greedy and take as much of the House.

That you are paranoid that they will try something is not freakish but you need to recognize a clear path to victory when you see it. Expand your vision to the Senate first and then the House. We need to Senate desperately. We can get it. There will be meat on the walls for that fight.

You have fought so long and hard that you have forgotten how to claim your victories. Right now it is as easy as picking low hanging fruit. The Senate is that one last piece of fruit way up high. We can get that one too. Know this well!

..............Or, they know they can spend money on positive ads because the Unions and NARAL are going to spend 100’s of millions on negative ads for him.

I never thought the Chargers could blow a 24 nothing lead on Monday night, either.

If you look up We really suck in Webster's, it still has a picture of the Houston Oilers team that blew a 35-3 lead to Buffalo in the January 1993 AFC Wildcard game.

“and the inevitable “October Surprise.””

I think the “October Surprise” is less and less a factor in elections, with the increase of early voting and absentee voting.

Lots of people have already voted. More vote each day. So much so that we basically have an election month, not an election day.

I don’t actually approve of this, but it does blunt the effectiveness of an October Surprise.

****O even refered to his presidency in the past tense....he knows he is one and done.****

His puppet masters must be giving him a hard time and he’s decided Bubba Clinton has a pretty good gig: adoring crowds, life-time pension, exotic travel, security, big bucks from memoirs, so-called global initiatives, charities and speeches. Sorta, kinda King of the World. He’s prolly jealous.

I’m in the camp that the polls looked strong for Romney all along and they’re now just reporting correctly to wipe the egg from their faces.

But I’m voting and encouraging every living soul I know to vote. Not taking a single thing for granted!

It will have to be a roll up door for Michelle.

“...heralding all the success of the last four years.”

So, they must be focusing on the people, who, like the muslim marxist, hate America and want to see the destruction of it continue.
