Iran said it would seek to cut imports of non-essential goods and urged its citizens to reduce their use of foreign-made mobile telephones and cars, as the country struggles to cope with Western economic sanctions.

The policies suggest the government is moving the economy onto an austerity footing to resist the sanctions, which have been imposed over Iran's controversial nuclear programme and have slashed its income from oil exports this year. ...

Cut off federal aid too while we’re at it. I was looking through the federal aid recipient list the other day and noticed one glaring fact that stared me in the face - we are sending federal aid to the very terrorist sponsored countries that keep attacking us. Paying protection money to radical elements didn’t work for Rome (actually brought about their downfall) and it won’t work now either.
