They (news media) raised the bar for acceptable doubts by looking the other way on zero, that it will be hard for them to go back to any kind of serious scrutiny.

The October 2000 surprise (GWB’s DUI) came extremely close to throwing the election to Gore. It lowered Republican turnout. Now the bar is so high that it’s hard to conceive of a Romney revelation that would suppress significantly.

The only surprise that may work is some kind of international conflagration. Or a staged right wing attack on a government facility with lots of innocent victims. Sort of Reich-stag on the Potomic.

Charles NoBrickashaw "Big Bird" Coburn's successful motion to quash has meant at least a temporary end to the web site. Luckily, most children are unaware that the popular stage name "Big Bird" was also Coburn's porn star tag.
