I had an uncle who served in Iran, but that was back in the 1960’s. They had a hard time convincing the Iranians that it was not sanitary to drink, bathe, piss, and poop in the same water source.

Many voters are the type of stupid person (by Obama/Biden standards) that gets up, goes to work each morning, and doesn’t get opportunities to glad-hand the masses at public events.
They may know some of our vets, and may in fact go out of their way to support them.
This still isn’t something that is a political plus for them. As opposed to Biden, they do it because they genuinely care about them even though they can’t get their votes.
