Fort Hood victims see similarities to Benghazi
Washington Times ^ | October 18, 2012 | Susan Crabtree

Benghazi isn’t the first time the Obama administration has struggled with whether to call an attack on a U.S. post a terrorist attack. Nearly three years after the fact, the Defense Department still calls the shootings at Fort Hood,Texas, an act of workplace violence, despite the suspect’s ties to al Qaeda.

A coalition of 160 victims and family members of the deadly rampage at Fort Hood in 2009 sees similarities in the Obama administration’s reluctance to label the attack on the U.S.Consulate in Libya as a terrorist act and wants government officials to belatedly deem the assault in Texas as terrorism as they now have done with Benghazi.

“To have it not be called terrorism is a slap in the face,”said Shawn Manning, who was facing his third deployment the day authorities say Army psychiatrist Maj.NidalHasan shot him six times.

The assault on the army post in Killeen,Texas, was the most lethal terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11,leaving 13 dead, more than 30 wounded by gunshots and dozens more injured. Survivors, many who suffered from multiple bullet wounds, have spent the past three years trying to rehabilitate their bodies and rebuild their lives. Maj. Hasan, 42,is awaiting trial and faces the death penalty if convicted.....

.....Calling the attack as terrorism would show “that our sacrifice meant something that day — that it wasn’t just a random act of violence,” Mr. Manning said. “We were fighting a domestic enemy. It would mean that the Army or the government finally recognized that what we went through was important. Everybody who was there that day was headed out for deployment.”

Mrs. Munley and Mr. Manning and several other victims appear in a newly released video “The Truth About Fort Hood” in which they give testimonials and express their frustration with the government for calling the attack “workplace violence.”....

I guess “workplace violence” has been replaced by, just another Obama “screw up.”

___________________________________________

“.......Obama was speaking to Jon Stewart of The Daily Show for a programme that was broadcast last night. Stewart, a liberal whose young audience is full of potential voters prized by the Obama campaign, asked the president about his handling of the aftermath of the Benghazi attack.

But Obama’s response sparked outrage among Republican commentators including the website Breitbart and prompted a vicious backlash from the Twitter community.

Ambassador Chris Stevens, diplomat Sean Smith and security men and former U.S. Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were killed by terrorists on the 11th anniversary of 9/11 - an attack that the White House initially blamed on a spontaneous protest about an anti-Islam movie made in California.

Stewart asked: ‘Is part of the investigation helping the communication between these divisions? ‘Not just what happened in Benghazi, but what happened within.

‘Because I would say, even you would admit, it was not the optimal response, at least to the American people, as far as all of us being on the same page.’

Obama responded: ‘Here’s what I’ll say. If four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal.’

He continued: ‘We’re going to fix it. All of it. And what happens, during the course of a presidency, is that the government is a big operation and any given time something screws up. ‘And you make sure that you find out what’s broken and you fix it.

‘Whatever else I have done throughout the course of my presidency the one thing that I’ve been absolutely clear about is that America’s security comes, and the American people need to know exactly how I make decisions when it comes to war, peace, security, and protecting Americans.

‘And they will continue to get that over the next four years of my presidency.’.............

Mr. Manning, who was medically discharged from the Army because of his wounds, recently was denied additional retirement benefits because his injuries were not classified as having occurred in a combat zone.

The Obama Campaign is currently pushing the idea that they are more supportive of veterans than any other Administration in US history. The truth simply isn't in them.

No wonder Obama wants to hinder our military from voting on his re-election.

I cannot live in a constant state of outrage . I am too old..but just the mention of Fort Hood and Obama’s response sends my blood pressure soaring ..It broke my heart to see a CIC of my beloved country behave so.
I am outraged at the political correctness that allowed that muslim monster to serve..His views were known by his colleagues.
God rest the souls of the victims of Islamic terrorism.

Support Our Troops.Give them a new CIC

Every time Obama opens his mouth about Benghazi, it’s worse than the last time. Now it’s “government screwing up” (what dignified and thoughtful language for a president!) and producing results (aka, American dead) that aren’t “optimal.” This makes it sound as if these results were within the acceptable range of things, although bambi will admit they weren’t the best outcome of all.

I feel very bad for the Fort Hood victims and survivors, because Obama’s arrogant desire to minimize the whole thing must seem like the ultimate insult.

The similarities are that in both cases one of his co-religionists killed Americans. He never criticizes his buddies when they kill normal people.
But he condemns normal people when they INSULT his buddies.
We know where his heart lies. It’s not with Christians and Jews.

Permit me to modify the first verse of the English poem on Guy Fawkes;

Hasan's Treason

Remember to remember the fifth of November
Gunfire, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunfire, treason
Should ever be forgot...

This is how they treat members of the military and their families. Obama has redirected the “war on terror” from his jihadist pals and onto Americans.
