Jesus ate with and dealt with sinners. As the bishop of New York is is the Cardinal's job to deal with all kinds of people. The people who are attacking Cardinal Dolan now probably “could NEVER vote for a Republican because of that homosexual Congressman in Florida.” They stood by their “principles” and we got Obamacare from a Congress run by Democrats. I'm an adherent Catholic and I'm proud that my Cardinal had the proper humility to sit next to our enemy. Had the cardinal snubbed Obama the Left would have made election points on that. I'm not interested in “looking” good to people like the author. Anyone who thinks that inviting Obama to the Al Smith Dinner makes the Cardinal even remotely look like he supports Obama is a fool.

Did Mr. Dolan tell Obama to “go now, and sin no more”? He doesn’t merit a comparison to Jesus.

ObamaCare passed because the Dem “blue dogs” led by the “Catholic” St. Stupak supported it; when they find out the consequences of that it will be too late to repent.

Anyone who has no issue with the Catholic hierarchy maintaining cordial relations with the Obama camp either 1)doesn’t believe abortion is murder, or 2) doesn’t care (or supports abortion). In any case, if the Catholic voters ignore their leaders, anyone can see why they would. If those leaders thought they could support ObamaCare to force OTHER employers to provide contraception and abortion and not them, then they deserve to be forced to pay for it as well.

It’s people like you who let church discipline go down the tubes. Call me a fool if you like. You are a cheerleader.

Here are a few things you should know about Archbishop Dolan. The only good news about his stay in Milwaukee was that he replaced Rembert Weakland.

1) He refused to take a stand on the Wisconsin Emergency Contraception Mandate which forces Catholic hospitals to make the abortifacient “morning after” pill available to rape victims. http://www.all.org/newsroom_judieblog.php?id=1829 (Eighth article on page, titled Wisconsin Catholic Conference Inertia)
2) He refused to silence the substantial minority of Milwaukee priests who preached from the pulpit against the Wisconsin Marriage Amendment. http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/29216494.html
3) He turned a cold shoulder to the Milwaukee “Catholic” pro-life community, as described by Judie Brown in my original post.
4) He involved the disgraced Rembert Weakland in archdiocese activities to the point of excess. (Weakland is still on the board of the Wisconsin Catholic Conference!)
5) He referred, in a broadbrush fashion, to people who support the Arizona Immigration law as “mean-spirited.” http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/archbishop_dolan_calls_arizona_illegal_immigrant_law_harmful/
6) He refused to publicly correct the public heresy of one New York priest whose parish features homosexual “kisses of peace” at Mass, among other debaucheries. http://lesfemmes-thetruth.blogspot.com/2010/11/bishops-kicanas-defeated-for-usccb-head.html
8) He publicly endorsed the Milwaukee “Saul Alinsky” Industrial Areas Foundation affiliate. http://www.commongroundwi.org/category/miscellaneous/page/2/

I know that facts don’t matter to cheerleaders, but maybe some of the other Catholics who see this will “get it”.
