Santee Cooper to Close Conway (SC) Plant
The Sun News ^ | October 20, 2012 | Steve Jones

CONWAY -- The board of directors of Santee Cooper decided Friday that the company will not reopen its Grainger generating plant in Conway.

The plant was one of two directors decided to permanently close because of the cost the company would face to make them compliant with the Environmental Protection Agency’s new Mercury and Air Toxins Standard for air emissions.

The other facility slated to close was the Jefferies coal and oil generating units in Moncks Corner. That plant’s hydroelectric generating station will continue to operate.

Coming soon to a town near you. Obama's goal of sky high energy costs about to be realized all over the country.

The noose tightens. If there is a second Obama term, he will strangle the country and force all into dependence and subjugation (except for his favored elite).

Apparently something like 200 coal plants nationwide are on the block for shutdown sooner or later. With no plan whatsoever to replace the generating capacity. Only a reprieve by a President Romney can avert blackouts and power disruptions becoming a way of life in an energy starved America.

I wish Romney or Ryan could go stand in front of this shuttered plant and show the country how at least one of Obama’s campaign promises is being kept—they are going to impoverish what remains of the middle and working class through skyrocketing energy costs.

Actually, what is happening is that the Board of Directors is lynching Obama. The noose that they tightened is the one on his neck.

Meanwhile in California, a similar lynch mob closed refineries and gas prices jumped upward to the threshold of pain.

Business is showing the president just who holds the winning cards

And many don’t know about all the EPA fascism that isn’t set to be implemented until afetr the election when he hopes to “have more flexibility”.

“...Business is showing the president just who holds the winning cards.”

Considering that business has talent and politicians have none, I’m glad that’s the way it is.

The NYT wannabe’s at The Sun News tried to bury this on a Saturday, But just look at the comments. People are outraged—and scared.

If Romney wanted to spank Obama in the next debate he could simply say, “Well, you keep talking like the economy is out of your control yet we find you closing businesses like power plants which raises the cost of power to everyone while laying off powerplant workers and coal miners alike.”

He would win all kinds of Blue Collar support if he did that. Get the press there and make the statement, “This is an example of Obama hurting the economy.”

"Business is showing the president just who holds the winning cards"

If the US has a President who doesn't care about destroying the country and has a goal of bringing the country down because of his perception of its illegitimate wealth, then business has no cards at all.

That’s by design, of course. The Sun News is a subsidiary of the NYT.

I wonder how many plants could have been retrofitted into compliance with the money that was thrown away on bozo’s green energy bs?

BO does not see, hear or care. He is President, Dingy Harry controls the Senate, the Republicans have spineless leaders in Congress and too much of our population has gotten used to living off of our tax dollars.

Romney has highlighted these plant closings. but the pig propaganda press refuses to report it.
