VP hopeful Paul Ryan energizes Moon crowd with campaign appearance
Selena Zito
Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan made a mid-morning stop in Moon Saturday between stops in Florida and Ohio 17 days before the Nov 6 election.
Ryan made a dramatic entry, walking onto the stage right off the plane saying, we are going to win Pennsylvania, and we are going to win this election.
Enthusiastic supporters twirled yellow Romney-Ryan towels in Terrible Towel fashion.
It was the first visit to the region by a candidate from either party since August.
....
Before Ryan arrived, area Democrats conducted a rally in support or President Barack Obamas reelection campaign. They spoke near the War Memorial Fountain at the Airside Business Park, several hundred yards from the hangar where Ryan was to appear.
....
About 20 people attended the event conducted by area Democrats. The Secret Service estimated Ryan attracted about 1,000 people.

A great crowd in Moon for soon-to-be-VP Paul Ryan. To complete the successful journey, he ought to head to Mars (PA) next! :-)

Must be one of those extra Obama states.
To: smoothsailing
The Obama rally attracted 20 people and Ryan attracted 1000? I like those odds.
To: re_nortex
He really should! :o)

I was having this thought about PA not being out of reach. Federal inmate number 11593-051 Keith Russell Judd receive 41% of the W. Va. primary vote against Bobo earlier this year. That is some wild ABO right there. W. Va. shares a decent chunk of border with PA. If Philly turns out even 2% less than 2008, PA is winnable. Ryan's appearance was great, so Romney campaign, send more surrogates.

One of THE-BEST cartoons I ever saw was two astronauts on the moon leaning over a body. Much to their shock and surprise, one leaned over and said to the other: "Why, I think it's Alice Kramden!"
Well, I'll never get over just how funny that was! One of the best one-line/one- screen shot cartoons of all time E-V-E-R!

Three of the 20 were local communist politicians and I’ll bet the other 17 were union hacks.
