Romney Closing in on Obama as Final Debate Approaches [Gallup "wacky" or are others "colluding"]

......opening SNIP of report of different outlets' polling numbers............

"Although most polls show a dead heat between Obama and Romney nationally, there is one key exception: Gallup. Among likely voters, Romney holds a six percentage point lead, and no one quite understands why, reports Reuters. The difference between Gallup’s numbers and all the rest is particularly astounding if you consider that the polling firm has been doing this for a long time and is widely respected. Gallup has correctly predicted all but three of 19 presidential races since 1936 but this time even the experts aren’t quite sure what to think.

"They're just so out of kilter at the moment," one polling expert tells Reuters. "Either they're doing something really wacky or the other 18 pollsters out there are colluding, or something."

“Great post!

Conservatives truly are a different species. In their minds, the world is topsy turvy, with the bad, lazy people (read “darker”) getting favored by mean liberals and the god, hard-working people get the shaft. Why, they get nothing from their incompetent government! And short of Obama showing up at their door with a check for a million dollars they never will.

Oh, and to answer your question about how things like equality and clean water became unimportant? To conservatives, their “free market” will correct all social ills. They’re market cultists.

Let’s say a pharmaceutical claims it can make your eyes blue with special drops. No pesky government regulations in the way and a thousand people go blind. Well, nobody will buy those drops anymore and the invisible hand of the free market will simply put them out of business! Bummer for those blind folks, though. Oh well, they made the choice to make their eyes blue. Caveat Emptor or whatever! Plus, they deserved it for being so vain. (Conservatives LOVE punishment and think it’s always a good thing. Even when not deserved. They’re sadistic.)”

I am sure Obama is as pleased as any one else that Romney is closing in, after all, did,nt he say himself that if he did not do his job that he would only be there one term?

But it is kind of confusing to me because i think he did do a very good job in screwing this country up more in four years than any one in history.

And i firmly believe that is what his job was.

Exactly.

Purpose and direction of Obama’s presidency: de-develop the United States.

Re: CW's quote of the liberal - "conservatives are truly a different species" ...

As for the above comments posted, that quotes the liberal ... it is axiomatic that anything a liberal is accusing you of either doing, or being, is something s/he is either already doing, or already is. it's where the idea for the accusation comes from.

The phenomenon of projection, as a psychological concept, is merely that the accuser is only capable of accusing you of something he or she already knows about or does themselves. If the accusation strikes you as odd, something you haven't even ever thought of, much less done, then you can be sure that the source of the idea comes from within the context of the accuser's own mind, life and habits.

When I was a young undergrad and studying psychology I couldn't identify with this - I thought the concept of projection was just some outdated Freudian theory. When I grew up, got into business, and observed the real world, especially politics, I realized that liberals are always telling you what they are secretly doing .... where do they get the ideas for their strange accusations?

Mitt could be really rich - not just 250 mil ... that's actually not that rich as far as venture captal goes ... if he wanted. So when they accuse him of taking advantage of the poor or middle class ... you can be sure that taking advantage of people is what's on their mind, not yours, not Mitt's. Welfare, Medicare, SSI, middle class, vulture capital, people losing jobs to your own benefit? Who really is raping these people? Who really has gotten raped in the last 4 years?

Their seemingly whacky accusations are not so whacky in their own world. They are par for the course in their own lives. Their accusations come directly from their own experience of themselves. If you watch the Obama campaign, keeping this in mind, you'll learn a lot about their thought process and intentions.

That's the 'evil' side of "All liberals are either ignorant or evil.

As to both the ignorant side who licks this stuff up, and the evil side that feeds it ... The twins evil and ignorance are a constant in the history of mankind. This fight is never going to be over.

Might as well enjoy the fight.

Short version:

An accusation is often a subconscious confession.

If he believes that wealth redistribution on a national scale is required “to give the little guy a fair shot; to level the playing field”,” it isn’t a long leap of faith to think he believes that on a GLOBAL scale.

At this point in time in 1980... carter led Reagan 47% to 38%. sam donaldson said on the evening of November 6th, “I can't believe Reagan has won in a landslide... I don't know anyone that voted for him”. I see the same thing going on here.

Yep, projection is real.

It is hilarious, for example, that I have seen posts here claiming that Democrats own the voting machine companies while the liberal web sites claim that Republicans own the voting machine companies.

Both sides accuse each other of stealing votes and elections.

Both sides claim they represent the un-represented or voice-less.

Politics is a bizarre echo chamber.

My experience—there is plenty of corruption and just plain evil among both political parties. Sociopaths are drawn to politics like ants to a picnic.

The difference—conservatives want to get rid of their slimebags while liberals idolize the Clintons, Edwards, and Obamas.

IF you go back & revisit the campaigning he did in 2007-08, that is exactly what he was saying then & is still saying now.

In the 2008 campaign, he referenced MANY times that other countries would not stand for America using the resources we use to have heat, food, etc. We could no long’ have the thermostat set at 72 degrees or have our air conditioning on.

Obama is truly a person who you have to listen to very carefully and you have to parse his words with detail.

He said repeatedly that ‘he was going to level the playing field’.

The blacks heard that he was going to pay for their cars-their gasoline- their weaves- everything. The parasites all were going to ‘move on up to the Eastside’.

I clearly heard that he intended to tear down those in America who are the producers. He was going to do his very best to have a complete wealth re-distribution & he was hell-bent on destroying everything America stands for in the process.

Turn that around—those of us who would vote for Reagan would not WANT to know Sam Donaldson.
