From this normally gray and soggy corner of New England. The Autumn leaves are “lookin’good”.

The consensus in my family is that the colors this fall in SE Michigan have been extraordinarily beautiful; the best we can remember. We're now working our way toward what we call "the late Autumn look": not quite so luscious, but still lovely. Autumn is the only season where a gray day can still be beautiful.

1980 USA Olympic Hockey Team Win Gold!

I’m 63 years old now and, becasue I have spent most of my life a hockey fanatic and most of my life single-mindedly anti-communist, I still count this single minute as the most exciting that I have lived through.

But everytime I watch it I expect Kharlamov to score and tie it up.

And he never does!

(how cool is that?)

Excellent! IMHO, if that’s not exactly what happened, you are very, very close. Uncomfortably close for nobama.

Perhaps the next story will be they thought it was a wedding celebration? Let’s hope Romney asks him when he found out it was a military attack? Was it before or after the UN address?

OK I watched the whole thing.

The closing question of the round table was:
In the upcoming debate, who has the most to lose?

All but one claimed it was Obama, as it will be on foreign policy, and he has to explain (lie about) that Libya thing.

“He could have won 60-40, if not better, by merely galvanizing the attention of the American people on what was really an attack on all of us.”

I’m not so sure I agree with this.....there are too many people like me who would vote for dog catcher rather than Obama. He “killed” Osama and the polls were still against him. The attack should not have happened with and, especially without resources to counter it.

OK He could have won 52-48—but won all the same.

Lucky for us, though, he has no capacity for truth, facts, or basic rationality and is a pathological Bolshevik-thinking Muslim apologist and political grifter instead.

Still...

Four more years were right there on the table, and most presidents of our past would have known how to take it. Easy. No problemo.

Indeed. He’s a pro at lying and blaming others. Text book sociopath.

In addition to all the blah blah coming from experts on the Sunday shows, Gov. Romney needs to make one reference to learning from history:

How did Ronald Reagan win the Cold War? He got the Soviets to spend themselves into oblivion. And that is exactly what we are doing today to ourselves. There is not enough income to raise taxes to cover our spending; we need to spend less.

We need to learn from history and control our spending. It's what grown-ups do when things get tough.

Morning AB, ALL....

Sang this morning at the 8:30 mass, actually had a little solo part.

I have an okay voice, really good if the song is in the four notes of my range. So it was cool.

As always, AB, thank you for doing this thread.

Making shrimp alfredo today...using shrimp I am cleaning and cooking myself.

Gots a cat, Gerald....well he likes shrimp.

So far he’s stolen two thus I must cover me shrimp.

Did watch Meet the Depressed (it’s on here now) and the new talking point is that Libya is a mess, everything is so confused, on any given day there might be reported an uprising or maybe not.

When do we all just agree that these people lied and go on to the next step? I mean if we want to let them lie for weeks and weeks....move on already.

If congress, even the Dems, let this administration get away with this someday the president of the US will be running wars all by hisself, the hell with congress and the citizens!

And they are so going on stupidly about the binder of women.

WOMEN GET YOUR OWN BIRTH CONTROL...dear Lord.

Reminds me of the old "I didn't know they could pile it that high" punch line.

Obama is, after all, a story kind of guy. He arose by story, lives by it, and will fall for it. To a thorough liar, all stories are potentially alive and dangerous, while truth is unknowable. A fraud is often a gullible fool.

When did he know? I say deep down he does not know NOW. Pilate said it for Obama and all his kind: “What is truth?”

For Obama there are no facts, no truth; there are only stories, arguments, and convincings.

Why is self described commie Van Jones on any program? Oh yeah, birds of a feather. He may have meant to say Colossal failure?

Greta was a guest panelist on Steph's show...I think this has been the 3rd time for her..and since in many markets, This Week airs opposite FOX news Sunday, Roger Ailes obviously had to sign off on it.

There seems to be an increasing synergy between FNC and ABC News..Rick Klein, ( whom I enjoy) ABC's chief Washington correspondent, is a regular on Greta's show...doing both individual segments and on her panel..

She really was fed up with Debbie's spin...worth watching Have a great day..

I sure hope Fox sunday will let me recuperate from the other two shows I watched!

WHY is Van Jones even on any show? Ok, ok, at least i had a rousing walk with the pupster before the shows. She relaxed on the patio throughout these shows..ha. she is the smart one.

So I voted for George McGovern oncit.

That was during my one to two years of being a liberal.

The night of that election I was so excited. Despite all the polls saying it was going to be a rout I had some kind of nutty idea that Mcgovern would win.

As the returns came in I was heartbroken. I think he only won in Massachusetts.

Heh.

Youth really is wasted on the young.

May Mcgovern rest in peace cause oncit upon a time I liked liberals.

Oncit upon a time I was one.

But if you tell anybody that I’ll have to deny it.
