Did you vote for Barack Obama in 2008? A lot of people did obviously.
What a time. Theres still room for improvement, but what a testimony to just how far we as a nation have come in terms of racial harmony, tolerance and diversity.
Only decades earlier a man like Barack Obama a black man couldnt even drink from the same water fountain as a white man, let alone become president of the United States. A hundred years prior to that, and he may well have been counted another mans property.
On Nov. 4, 2008, millions gathered at the ballot box to prove, once and for all, that, in large measure, we as a nation have healed from our disgraceful, self-inflicted wounds of racial abuse, bias and division.
That we could elect an African-American to lead the free world is indeed a very good thing.
We just happened to elect the wrong African-American.

You ought to more concerned about write-in voters.
If they spell like you do, their "votes" will be even MORE meaningless.
Matt Barber is spot-on, as usual! I like the former Obama voter Matt quoted: “Because I refuse to be that stupid twice.”
An open letter? This presumes that most Obama voters can read.
These voters read Breitbart’s site?
I don’t see how anyone could vote for Obama. Ever. The evidence he was far left Soviet-style government first black liberation theology was out there with any research. All hype from the MSM and no substance.
Yep, all that is now known was available since long before the 08 election but low info and no class idiots were taken in by this clown posse. See Evelyn Pringle’s ‘Operation Board Games and Curtain Time for Obama’....for everything known about ChiTown Obama and friends!

Ain't that the truth. If this black man ever runs for president, he's got my vote:
Well... What do they want? A man that’s made billions in the private sector, or the sort of man that’s wasted TRILLIONS of public sector tax dollars???
The tragedy of Obama’s term is that he has made it more difficult for true Americans such as Alan West to overcome the damage to our psyche.
Obama truly was the first ‘celebrity’ President. He is more comfortable on talk shows and is familiar with ‘pop culture’ personalities.
I have more taste than BO - and you have more intellect;)
sod
You forgot something there, smarty pants.
Well played.
True story - when I was a kid, there were still "colored-only" and "white-only" water fountains in parts of the country.
One day, as the story goes, while my mom, brother, sister and I were waiting at a bus station, I got up and got a drink out of one of the water fountains. A man nearby quickly told my mom that I was drinking out of the "colored-only" water fountain.
"It's ok," my mom replied, "he can't read!"
It's one of my favorite stories about my mom.
Colonel West is a fine man and a great patriot.
I believe that's true, but only to an extent. People on our side love Allen West, and would vote for him to assume a higher office in overwhelming numbers. And there are other conservative blacks in our stable who would find similar support on the right.
It's the left that is consumed with identity politics. I think our folks are a whole lot smarter than that. The proof is that we on the right disagree with Obama because of his politics, and not because he's got the 'wrong' paint job.
Indeed. As I was just telling sodpoodle, folks on our side see the content of West's character, not the color of his skin. It's one of the chief distinctions between us and the left.
We may despise Obama, but we're not the sort of knee-jerk people who won't give another black man a chance because he happens to be of the same race. If that man supports and believes in the tenets that built this nation, then we'll support him (or her) fully.
Not him either, he voted for NDAA and to fund Obama Care. Don’t be fooled.
