Mourdock’s clarification tonight: “God creates life, and that was my point. God does not want rape, and by no means was I suggesting that he does. Rape is a horrible thing, and for anyone to twist my words otherwise is absurd and sick.”

I agree, anyone who twists his words to mean otherwise is absurd and sick. I think it’s time for Republicans to stand together against this stupid, adolescent gotcha game played by the democrats.

No. It is time for republicans to nominate morons who don’t think trough these issues enough before mouthing off answers that include God, rape, pregnancy and abortion in the same sentence.

He can be the small minority who opposes abortion in all cases. But, he owes his republican supporters a damn good answer when it comes up in public. Not a moronic one.

Clarification is not going to do squat.

Expect this story to dominate rest of the week.
