Mmm... I'd say a pretty large swath does, indeed, hate him, and with good reason.
Very true, and my only exception taken with this offering, another in an OUTSTANDING string of grand slams from one of THE most gifted essayists of our time !
Thank again, ex :-)
And so he is over because the alternative to him being over is the tastemakers having to confront their own overness. Their own mortality. . .
“But Obama is determined to be a hipster to the very end, instead of embracing the shamelessness of his own media manipulations, he veers erratically between an insincere sincerity and the sneer of the spitefully superior. It’s the performance we saw in the third debate, the antics of every college kid you ever argued with, that combination of smugness and insecurity that marks the hipster as an impossible conversationalist.”
Wow. Just wow. Greenfield is brilliant.
Add me to the list too - thanks !
You're right Kitten...
Sounds like 98% of the college professors that's I've ever dealt with.
So he's Paris Hilton. And just like her, he's the biggest waste of carbon since the soft-lead pencil.
Awesome and thoughtful post! And sooooo true on many levels!
Yep, O’s legacy is dying a slow death just like Oprah’s OWN network. Oprah should be somewhere nice, retired with her billion dollars. But instead she’s going to blow it all to prop up a failing TV network that will never go anywhere. Like 0bama, she went to the well too many times and people just want her to go away already.
Ah, The Hunt for Red Ohio!
Using half the words would have made this a great article.
1) Your screen name definitely fits.
2) It's screed, dearie.
3) Would you like some cheese with your whine?
Thank you!
How can we set this article to music so that we can sing it on November 6 ?
Oh ... My ... God! TOTALLY .... LAID .... WASTE !!!
And he didn't even call them "Chicago Boyz".
Very good.
It’s amazing how his essays stimulate the mind and touch heart at the same time.
I am forever grateful to expat1000 for introducing Mr. Greenfields work to me.
Expect Romney to govern in much the way Gerry Ford did, only more of a Mr. Manager type. I'm afraid of what he will do to social issues -- if he has a GOProud dinner on Inaugural Night, for instance.
He will need, if he's going to go into Barky's stuff, three or four special prosecutors and maybe a committee of the Congress (to jail on "contempt of Congress" anyone who refuses to testify to matters under their knowledge).
He'll need another for Fast & Furious.
He'll need yet another for Barky's sub-rosa dealings with the Muslim Brotherhood and the Umma, including Benghazi and the questions about Obama's citizenship (I'm still halfway convinced he may be an Indonesian, not American, citizen, and that at a minimum, he kept his Indonesian passport beyond the surrender date, making an "election" of citizenship in favor of Indonesia, back when he was in his 20's -- which would mean he's no longer NBC, even if arguendo he was when he was born).
Tom Daschle, Nancy Pelosi, Axelcheat, and others will also be in the sight picture. This has the capacity to be a really big constitutional SNAFU, requiring rescission of dozens of Obama executive orders, and possibly Obamacare.
Against all of that, some GOP advisors will be telling Romney to move on, no scandals, no investigations -- just let us get in there use the honeymoon period to start shoveling out the money!!! [Pigs at the Trough IV.]
Thank you for posting this savory piece.
It was well written and hit all the important notes.
Please add me to your Ping list. Thanks.
Thanks for the correction, I am humbled by your sharp eye.
I loves me some cheese.
Thank you for this link. What a cathartic thing to read./p>

I'm still wondering how he got to be IL state Senator and U.S. Senator when both offices require American citizenship. If he wasn't a U.S. citizen of ANY sort (I have my doubts) what sort of skids (or palms) were greased to make his entry into those offices possible?
