So, it’s just another attempt to resurrect the “war on women” meme?
And how exactly is this story worse than the “Romney killed my wife” meme they were running with earlier? Basically, the Obama campaign has returned home to the only trick it has.
yes, he did.
Worse--he left the seat up.
Romney hates women!!!
(Just before the unassailable fortress wall bets blown to bits.)
Compared to what we have now in the WH and all he has done, this is such a pathetic attempt, it's downright sick and it won't work.
“Unsealing divorce records is how Obama got into Congress in the first place” You are so right! Remember Jack Ryan in Chicago!
The bombshell is that Romney gave character reference to a friend during a divorce hearing???
Really?
Then, no purjury. The defense (wife’s counsel) would not be allowed to ask the witness to speculate as to the future value of the stock or of how the Holding Company (Bain) was structuring the finances for the future.
If this is the bit, Allred is gonna be reduced to subhuman irrelevancy.
Sounds more like the real story is that Gloria has lost her mojo.
What is interesting is that they are not even trying to PRETEND that this “emergency” is anything other than an attempt to affect the outcome of a presidential race by unsealing the records of people who aren’t even running... They must be very confident of the judge they got, because you would think most judges would toss such a request based on the obvious political motivation.
Should be, but I bet she comes out and and makes some dramatic sounding statement with a distraught client and most of the Obamamedia will run with it as if it is fact.
That’s probably game over right there. If the lawyers say, “Hey, great if the public knows, who cares?” There is definitely no there there. If all he was doing was saying in court that Staples was worth X, they aren’t even going to be able to hurt him with it if they cobble up some data “proving” Staples was worth more, because they’ll have to get off in the weeds with numbers that make Mitt’s 59 point economic plan look like a quick read.
I don’t think Romney committed perjury, but the Dhims will try to tie this with their narratives of “Romney lied to help his male cronies against his wife”, hoping that women—especially those who divorced—feel solidarity with the ex.
BIg deal! Gee, Ms. Gloria, you couldn’t ask for this when there wasn’t an election?

I am going to go one furthur -- I think they are actually hoping the judge keeps the testimony and files SEALED!!! They don't actually want them out, they want to show Romney's lawyers BLOCKING the release so they can then have their little dog & pony show with the distraught ex-wife and the claim "WHAT IS ROMNEY SO AFRAID OF THAT HE IS BLOCKING RELEASE OF HIS TESTIMONY! WHAT IS ROMNEY HIDING!"
STATEMENT FROM ATTORNEY REPRESENTING ROMNEY:
Robert Jones, an attorney at the Boston law firm of Ropes & Gray, who is representing Romney in this matter told TIME in a statement, This is a decades-old divorce case in which Mitt Romney provided testimony as to the value of a company. He has no objection to letting the public see that testimony.
Relax, people.
“They must be very confident of the judge they got, because you would think most judges would toss such a request based on the obvious political motivation.”
Either that, or they may actually be banking on the record remaining sealed.
Ammunition for smears and innuendos might vanish if the (potentially mundane) facts of the case come to light.
