The president of Clemson University is chastising those who booed President Barack Obama during the college’s Military Appreciation Day at last weekend's game.

During the university’s annual event that was held this year during the Clemson vs. Virginia Tech game on Saturday, a ceremony was held to induct ROTC cadets into the military.

The ceremony was disrupted by booing from some fans in the stands.

In an email with the subject line, “Dear Clemson Family: Focus on Positive Dialogue and a Civil Discourse,” Clemson University president James Barker addressed the behavior at the football game.

Clemson is such a great place. I am so happy that my daughter is there and bugs me to come up for at least one game a year. And This past Saturday was a gloriously crisp sunny day it was just picture-perfect. And this article is an indication of their values. Go Tigers!

WT??? - LISTEN to the ADDED sentences in the OATH!!!

and I will obey the president!!!!!

That is NOT in the original OATH!

How many knew it had been changed???? back in the 1960’s!!!

This must not stand!

“The wordings of the current oath of enlistment and oath for commissioned officers are as follows:

“I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.” (Title 10, US Code; Act of 5 May 1960 replacing the wording first adopted in 1789, with amendment effective 5 October 1962).

“I, _____ (SSAN), having been appointed an officer in the Army of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of _____ do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; So help me God.” (DA Form 71, 1 August 1959, for officers.)”

the reason it was not in the regional oath was to keep a despot president, which we have now, from ordering the military to turn on US...

Negates the Constitutional protection we had from a tyrannical administration

I first saw that drawing as a black and white fax that was going around 20 or so years ago.

I laugh every time I see it!

Clemson is Auburn with a lake.

Just saw this thread after I searched for Clemson. I find the best information about colleges by search on FR.

Anyway, my daughter is thinkng of going to Clemson. We live in California, and she wants a conservative school. I’m from Texas, and went to A&M. My son is at A&M now, but my daughter thinks it’s way too big for her. Plus, she wants to be near mountains.

Clemson seems like a smaller A&M.

I’m just wondering how a California girl would do there. She is a white, cnservative, Christian, but she has some Cali thrown into the mix.
