You are correct that it’s incorrect. “Mitt Romney and me” is correct. In typical Obama fashion he puts himself first.

I agree that putting the other person's name first is good usage and putting their name second is bad usage.

In terms of being grammatically correct, I'm not sure if the pronoun should be in the objective case.

The sentence was:

"I don't think that any relationship between me and Mitt Romney is different from previous presidential campaigns."

The phrase "any relationship between me and Mitt Romney" is the subject of the verb "is" in the subordinate clause introduced by "that."

I'm not sure if the right version should be "any relationship between Mitt Romney and I."

It is poor English - and a 'pet peeve' of mine; given how often it is put forth. Perhaps someone could help Obama. An easy way to remember what is correct is to simply, never mention yourself - first. Just as you do not serve yourself first; when you are the 'host'.

That said; no reason to bother Obama about it; for narcissists; the 'other'; is an impossible concept. He cannot escape; nor forget for a moment; his 'me'.

The 'learned' - not - President; shows the caliber of his education or at least, his 'learning curve'; every time he opens his mouth. He is as embarassing as he is, pathetic.

Here’s another one for Brian to puzzle over: why is FNC cleaning your clocks in the ratings for debate coverage, and will likely do the same on election night? If you guys are the pillars of journalism you claim to be, looks like NBC would attract more viewers than a mere cable channel, and conservative one at that.

Williams should be thankful Tom Brokaw retired when he did...otherwise, his tenure on NBC Nightly News would be brief; network news is a media dinosaur, and along with the rest of the herd, Brian is heading for the tar pits.

Journalists do this all the time - they parse everything they say in an attempt to mask their biases and the result is a complete load of gibberish.

I guess what he meant was "how on earth is it possible that you could lose?!" but when he tried to hide his biases, what came out of his mouth was "you did not expect to be sitting on a more substantial race."

According to him, 4% of voters would like Obama to retroactively change his first term to make it more like the second term that hasn't happened yet.
